Google PR update.
Google Pageranks got updated today.
Pagerank for my tech blog increased to 2 (even though I was not expecting it,I must confess :P)
Share your latest pageranks. Lets see who has gained the max :)
Old URL still at 2 and new custom URL at 0 (at least its better than NA). Now, how do I tell google that both these URLs point to the same blog so that PR of old URL is transferred to new one.
hmm, the PR always gets affected in shifitng of URLs, doesnt it? Still, I think you will get a new PR pretty soon for the new url.
Does that mean you get your GPR or do you have to start all over again?
Ohh, matlab bhagwaan ke baad Google baba aate hain.
Der hai andher nahi
@ani, its possible, if you follow that digital inspiration's article. Also, one more relevant link
Indirank update next only on 7/12/2011 dude :) u'll get higher then. dont worry.
Crap! My GPR down to 2 from 3.. I dont knw why. been blogging, been reading, been maintaining
Do a little SEO for your blog, vinay . It will improve the traffic as well :)
Why does PR decrease when the chances of incoming links decreasing is almost zero?
Congrats DS Hope that your IndiRank increases and stays constant just like your GPR
Congrats Abhi, I am at 2! Slow and steady wins the GPR. is it true?
Arti, sorry dear, I shared the reason on other thread, due to power cut, I get very less time to come online these days. that's why,
Congrats Mohini. Yes, slow and steady wins the race but can the race ever end, PR of 10!!!
Power cut in winter! IB team should be made to govern India so that we do not face any such problems.
Number 1 and Number 2 have replied in an orderly manner. One after the other. Well done DS and Mohini
Dont worry Ranjith, its bound to increase. I got my non-zero pr after many months. I am sure you wont have to wait much. :)
Oh I feel like crying seeing the way you are consoling me.
I had a PR of 2 earlier but now as I shifted to a custom domain, the PR got reset to zero. I hope that PR gets transferred.
@Ds Thanks :)
@Leo Hopefully... hona toh... chahiye...
@Ranjith Thanks :) Just replied in an orderly manner zero, -1 ..hehe
Now I did not understand what Arti meant.... Confusions are increasing nowdays on the forum. It all started with the congratulatory thraed for Arti and then the thread related to reviews posted by Hemal and now it is time for this discussion to get into the clutches of confusion
@Ranjith I anticipated your reply to abhi as "What you did not understand " So provided an answer beforehand
Yup, its really good. Nothing to worry about. I think traffic is more important than Pagerank and they dont always go hand- in hand.
Thanks, Abhi, Arti, and DS. I hear about Prs of 5 and 6 for blogs, so I was not clear whether a 2 is good or not. I have been blogging for six years, but more in the form of keeping a personal journal with only myself and my family as readers. It is only since the last six months that I have started blogging more regularly and keeping a broader more general readership in mind.
Wow! 6 years is quite a time. It requires some serious dedication to blog for that much amount of time. amazing! :)
A PR of 2 is good enough. PR 5 and 6 is difficult to achieve. Moving to higher PR is difficult because it is on a log scale. If 100 links can bring you to PR1, 1000 are required to move to PR 2 and so on.. though not exactly as I described. Spending more time is the best way but it is possible only for professional bloggers.
Hi frnds...my blog PageRank got PR 4 ,and other blog get PR 2 ..
No, that would be too high. indiatimes and rediff have a pagerank of 7. I dont think indi gets that much traffic, besides it also depends on incoming links from sites with higher pr.
Reason for the dip: Renie hasn't asked any sponsorer to send us free i pads in the way Dove has sent free hair care product samples
@ DS Page Rank is not at all related to traffic. It only depends on the quantity and quality of incoming links. The other way around can be true: A page having a high PR might get more traffic because it is likely to perform better in searh engines.
@ Arti Good Joke! I answer other people queries by googling. Let me try the same now.
This might help: http://www.seomoz.org/toolbox/pagerank
It asks me to register to access the feature. I am too lazy to do it....
thnx 4 encouragement @DS , m happy atleast I got PR as my blog is just 3 months old
Been Blogging Since 2nd Oct, 2011, Got PR3. I was expecting a PR5, but links have got diluted across 3 other website's of our which are interlinked. All other sites of ours have moved to PR1. As Google is Down from PR10 to PR9, another update is expected shortly. Increased my link building activity 20 times, Hope to crack that PR5!
Congrats to all others who have improved their ranking and those would could not, give it a shot, you will get there!
That is a good rank withink a short period of time. Any particular sites you would recommend fot link building? When do you think the next update will be?
thanks in advance :)
Actually PR is bit outdated in terms of a measure of the targeted traffic we get. Moz rank gives you a better understanding. But PR helps in getting Readers Attention.
Checking the Rank against the targeted keyword is better. But I guess It makes sense to first be loved by Gig G, then we can always get that love from Mr. Moz and Ms. Alexa!
Thanks DS and Deepika for your comments!
my one blog PR is 3 and other is 1. both the blogs are less that one year old.
Haha, thanks DS,.
Yours will increase too, it looks like you are in top-gear of blogging :)
hey friends, congratulations to all for gettinh high PR in Google. My blog also get PR 4 in Google.... :)
