Calling all musicians together
I am planning to start a music blog. However, I want to use it as a promotion platform along with a fun forum. So, here is what I plan: -
- Post audio and video clips of your work. Be it playing an instrument or singing or dancing.
- Once, we get a good number of members there, we can add varieties to it like, composing music together. I twill have two forms.
- Self-composed: Here, a piece of self-composed music will be initiated by one of the members and other members keep on adding to it.
- Experiment with composed tunes: In this form, lead will come by the initiator as an already composed tune where fellow members add more tunes (which are already composed in bollywood, for example).
- Technicalities and other logistics can be decided once we have some interested people.
So, let me know your reactions. I hope to hear from all those musicians out here. I'm sure it will be fun.
P.S. Please do not forget to mention what you play, whether you sing, or what form of dance you're into. Also, if you have taken any formal training.
I would love to be there....when I learn something....:( ! Though I have ideas but don't know to play any instrument
Hi, would love to have a colloborative music blog. I play guitar. Only uploaded one stuff in my blog so far.
That's wonderful. But noise was irritating. Stay tuned to this thread for updates
Try audacity. I use it and get a very good recording quality even on acoustic guitar. You can hear one of my recrdings here
Not sure how you will do it,but would be fun to explore.
One major question:Ownership of the content created?Licensing
Trust me, artists are very very protective of their work:)
I play a bit of guitar and also compose/write songs. Style: Poetry/Story based
Madhur, you're right. I myself am a musician and have done my graduation in Music.
I am still to work on logistics but be rest assured that interests of all musicians be saved. I know its a big task, but again the project itself is so ambitious.
I Play Guitar. Learned by watching my bro play it.
I can Sing too, Though my voice is not good.
I can also Dance. Attended no classes. Learned lil bit of Salsa and Tango through Youtube. I learned Western dance by dancing in school fests.
Hmm!! Thats all I guess. I have one blog where I provide LYRICS and GUITAR CHORDS and TABS. I can do that if you want me in this
That's too good Pooja. Looking forward for your participation.
Will check your blog
It took 8 months for me to realize that music is not my cup of tea and the net result of 8 months of toil were corns on my fingers and one frustrated guitar teacher, richer by a 10,000 bucks but with a nasty feeling that possibly she would have been happier 10,000 bucks poorer itself.
TF, you reminded me of my HIndi Teacher. She used to say Gaana aur rona sabko aata hai (Everyone knows how to sing and and how to cry).
Having said that I bet that I can bring the musician out of you. All I need in return is dedicated one hour from your daily routine.
@ Animesh - Really? Thats would be great. I have to see if my guitar is still there in my father's house. I haven't seen it for close to 7 years now. Will a guitar survive 7 years on the loft? In the end of 8 months, I could mechanically play the chords and the "for a few dollars more" song. But I still had not figured how to tune the guitar. Not sure if your teahcer is right. Rona maybe but gaana - I think you need sensitive ears for music.
Can't say if it would have survived. Depends exactly in what condition it is.
But if you're serious, I can promise you that you will be able to play music naturally. But, I plat lap steel guitar which is different than normal guitars you see in TV and movies.
hey Ani. WONDERFUL idea. i would love to join, but i dont have any musical qualifocations.
that is if you dont call my unitentional braying as 'singing' :P
i would follow up the upcoming blog for SURE cuz i LOVE music and i respect musicians... and i would do ANYTHING to own and learn a guitar :) (that doesnt include scraping out my bank savings ok?? :P :P)
Hmm, would love to see you there. Who knows there may be something for you, too
Animesh jhi, Kirti writes wonderful poems. You can use them as scripts.
Her words are interwined with deep-down meanings and have a beautiful touch to them.
I know, I have read them. I am still under process to finalize final things. Would post details once I am done with it. It may take some time, but its going to be an exciting platform for all aspiring musicians
Thats real good to know.
I would follow your blog for sure. Its a great initiative
Ani...don't listen to Kirtz. she sings wonderfully.
@Kirtz - my dear you have performed too...toh dhop mat jhaar.
oho main aur wonderfully?? and 'performed'??? abbual day pe and farewell pe 'group song' gana is performance??
anyways, Ani, Antara is a wonderful singer too.... trained also, if i might add...
@Kirti haan main toh hun...lata mangeshkar (waise...let's keep our banter out from here :P)
but you know...since we both live so close together, we can collaborate. you know...record together or do something together.
haan yaar YAHAN to atleast we should have control on our tongues :P
and yeah!! it sounds like FUN. exams ke baad try karte hain then :)
Great to see so many responses from fellow bloggers, Ani. You already know I play the guitar. So you can count me in for any such venture.
Maybe once you have decided how you want us to contribute apart from posting clips, we can all Hangout on G+ and discuss how we can take things further.
I'll call you tomorrow (I assume you must have dates swarming over you today). Aage baat tab karte hein. I have some doubts about Audacity I'm sure you can clear...
Tumane bulaya aur hum chale aaye:) It was nice talking to you dear
Same here dude... We'll make this venture awesome! So awesome that you, Leo & me will have to quit our jobs to take care of this fulltime
Aah I am loving it :)
Quit our jobs to make it successful, wow
Mention nt. Well that will be a proper forum for me
I can sing and also i have created asong inspired by the movie Mission Impossible
Hey Ani, i wanted to clarify a doubt. Is it necessary for this musician to blog? because I know a guy from a Guy who is a mind-blowing guitarist. he is simply AWESOME.
Then can my bro join in Too?.
He's awesome at Guitar
I'm here finally! Aah love the idea Ani...can't wait to be a part of it in however small a way.
