I believe you will have lot of oppurtunities for your fashion blog. You can check out fashion blogger interviews on blog adda. I think somebody called Souvik had posted somewhere here that he got come contact from Marie Clarie or something. If you find him you can ask him.

As far as I know, you cannot put adverts on your blog if u r using free WP domain. It is possible if u hv custom domain

Another question, how does one get ratings on their blog?

Can you be specific which rating you are talking about?

For any type of rating, you would be needed to post regular, get unique visitors and manually feed your web address to the blog forums/search engines (yahoo, bing and google are 3different entities) and if possible DMOS.org (toughest listing)

Hi

You can put Advertisements on a WordPress.com blog, see details here

Else, get your own personal domain name and hosting >> Apply for AdSense, Infolinks etc.

Hope this helps :)

adsense rejected me saying inappropriate content. I'm not sure why. I have, after all, a fashion blog :-/ i was wondering about other adverts? ANd flipkart code isn't working for wordpress. I kinda suck at coding and things (know 0 about them) so I'm feeling utterly lost.

Thanks for the link though. I'll check it out.

Google keeps rejecting adsense application for inapproporaite content. You may do a few things that help you getting approved soon...get your blog scanned for any copied/plagiarised content, even if you copied some para from wikipedia it wud be taken as plagiarism. So, re-write those paras.

In some where on blog'body's html template, insert a Code that this blog is managed by You (Your name on Google account is most preferred).

These two things helped me a lot. In addition, too less of content/posts also sometime being described by Google bot as inappropriate content, so if you are new in blogging, can wait for sometime before applying/reapplying...

@captain awesome. I meant ratings when websites ask you what your ratings are so that they can put ads.

i think they ask for GPR etc.

and isn't it rather unfair that there is no limitation for blogspot users Cry

these are two platforms maintained by two different companies, each with their own set of rules. so  cant call it unfair

Blogger is owned by Google as is AdSense. So it makes sense for them to promote Blogger by providing an inherent option for advertisements. But I guess, first your AdSense account needs to be approved. Recently Google also launched Google Affiliate ads on Blogger.

@thefool I couldn't find that post but thanks a lot.... I'm still trying to figure out. what about flipkart? anyone here uses that for ads?

I don't think any of the tools like ad sense and stuff will help you. It will take a long time and give only less money. If you directly approach fashion product companies for ads that might be more effective. Go through list of blogger interviews on Blog Adda. I have seen at least 3-4 fashion bloggers there.
