Are you a writing blogger or a blogging writer?

eh what???

I'm using he means that do you only write coz of your blog, or do you write in general and therefore you blog.. I think!

That's correct. Are you a writer first and blogger second? Or you are a blogger first and writer second?

I'm a blogger who writes and hence writing is a part of my blogging!!

So you are writing just coz its needed for the blog, is it?

I've always been a writer. Didn't really refer myself as a writer back then coz it sounded too out of reach and fancy (it still feels that way!) like a lawyer! Blogging is very recent and it's a platform that gives color for all my writes and also I get to participate and interact with other bloggers, like how I'm doing right now!!

So I guess it's the other way around. I write as always but I blog only when I feel like sharing what I write. :)

Well, I dont know about that but I do feel - a blogging blogger - is a more apt term for my scribblings and scrabblings apart from my travel articles of course Dont know which category exactly all that would fit into... then again, I feel why should someone limit oneself to only one category/ classification when there are so many available?

I think I would put myself under blogging writer. Blog is just a medium to get my writings across to an audience.

I will second that. You have tremendous talent as a writer. I have read some of your posts, and more recently the Castrol contest ones. The fluidity of expression of thoughts is superb.

Let me introduce a third category if you please .I am a social worker,then a writer & then a blogger....i write because it is my experience that people avoid coming face to face to a counselor for their personal or emotional problems;therefore i write about such topics & in order to enlarge the ambit, i blog .... otherwise who would publish my works & who would read them ?

That's a noble cause. Good to know you are trying to get some attention to such a noble cause through your blog. Good luck with the initiative!!

I feel I am a writing blogger. This is how I differenciate between them-

1. A blogging writer is essentially skilled in writing and is using the blogging platform for showcasing his writing skills.

2. A writing blogger is essentially a blogger is who likes to express his feelings anyway and writing turns out to be one of the medium. Also he or she has greater responsibilities- writing for audience, marketing, Social media, interaction, web design, etc.

I started writing first, Blogging was just a way to showcase what I wrote.

So I would be BLOGGING WRITER.

I am a blogging writier, i.e., i started writing before coming on to blogosphere

So we have a lot of blogging writers in the forum. As fellow members of the forum, we can expect autographed copies of books on our shelves in near future!! 

So what are you or what do you aspire to be?  Given you are predominantly a travel blogger, I would say writing blogger. Very few writers such as William Dalrymple have made it big in travel writing. Otherwise travel is more suited to remain on blog.

I know for sure I am not a blogging writer. I maybe be classified as a writing blogger as sometime I do write in my posts though its primarily a photoblog.

I find myself as blogging Writer, I love writing, that's why I blog to be criticised and read other blogs to learn more and more...

There surely has to be a writer hidden within each of us... blogging generally helps most of us discover this latent talent. This is because blogging is a new phenomenon and has begun its career as a popular motivator only a few years back.

However, not all bloggers find writing a very attractive thing and limit themselves to value-based blogging, issue-based blogging, and work with specific targets in mind. These targets could be earning money or earning their livlihood. Such bloggers hardly ever try to get into creative expression... they are the ones who churn out information. Most of the tech bloggers fall in this category...

Where do I position myself? A writer who blogs to keep his writing instincts sharp.

I actually dont understand the difference... but I presume you want to categorize people who started blogging because they have a passion for writing or they starting blogging first then got into writing inspired by other bloggers...  well based on this assumption I am a blogging writer...

I guess I am both, I am a blogging writer in that though I do write, the medium I choose is a blog instead of say a book, a newspaper, etc.

I am a writing blogger in that my blog deals with written articles instead of images, photos or some gathered information from elsewhere on the internet.

I feel i am a blogging writer as i like to write short stories and just that. :)And with the encouragement that i receive i try to write more.And i agree to the fact that blogging is infact a medium to showcase your writings. 

from 1995-96 i am writing poems and my blog is just 3 years old . so i am poet first than i am blogger . yes blog expanded my audience they give compliment and its a source of motivation that i should continue my work .
