Allow Children to play in school playgrounds after school hours

In a veiled attack on Sheila government, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for sports and youth affairs Ajay Maken said that the local kids should be allowed to use playgrounds of Public schools in non school hours.

Ajay Maken told that in his meeting with the Union minister he suggested that government should ask Public schools, whom the government has allotted, land for playing fields on a very nominal price, to allow the children of the locality to use school playing field during non-school hours.

Knowing well that public schools will not accept this demand Maken said “If they do not agree and if the allotted land is misused than it is liable to be municipalized or taken over by the local government”.

I thought they let kids play in such grounds by default...

I think that's a great step. I mean, the lands are provided at a subsidized rate and for the most part of the day, those fields are left un-used. Opening them for children to play, if a great initiative.

But That would require lot of man power and money to be involved as to keep the discipline going there had to be some instructure and maintainance staff after school hours !

And that would require money and That would make way for entrance fee !!!!!

any possibility of any accident cant be neglected

In most of the school, the guards are there for 24 hours. So, there will be some kind of supervision.

The school sports teachers only could spend their extra time there, atleast the students would be getting some guided coaching, much needed to get the olympics in the future..

I think they should allow local kids to play there (if the field is not in use by school/college for any reason)
