Beware of some guestbloggers...
And might as well should be. There are times guestbloggers get money from advertisement/SEO agencies to embed a link to their client on different websites. That's the reason why the regular ones do it for free, especially those who link to exclusive offers. You think you're getting content but to be honest you're simply degrading your site.
I am not saying all do nor I am saying they do it on a regular basis. But when someone contacts you and says they can put up content for free, keep on a lookout. Sometimes they even put up copyrighted material and since its not possible for everyone to keep on a lookout if a content is copyrighted or not, atleast you can keep a check on your guestbloggers. If you're going one of those genius who say "there's no free lunch!". Well, sucks to be you! :P
I agree. I think many people forward copied conetent to site admin and when we complain the admin says, they didn't know. This case happened with Hindava Keralam. One person Upananda Brahmachari copied my article on Baba Ramdev and started posting on different sites. First I found on Hindava Keralam. I requested them to remove, and while removing and apologising they said that, they didn't know, Upananda Brahmachari forwarded them. Though I have doubt Upananda Brahmachari is the admin there.
In one of my sites, I have mentioned clearly that they will get only a no-follow link for a guest post. This frightens off almost every guest blogger - the commercial ones, I mean!
I have 2 more guys. 1 does audio reviews. What I do is that I forward sample and they review it honestly, in exchange if they need a hardware or if i have something good, I give it to them- like i have a 120gig ssd. i gave it to him temporarily, but he liked it so i gave it to him, why not. Another guy does news and i would be doing the same. But this is something you can do with people you know and trust- and if you get resources along the way.
This happens .. if you see links going to commercial website instead of a blog, ask for commission :P

If you ahve been fooled in the past with a guest post containing links to commercial sites, remove the links or make them no follow.
i get a lot of such requests from such content mills, including a couple of regular followers of my blog, and my solution is to put the quality and relevance of the content first, then consider if the commercial site is in any way against my principles. the post is written after discussion on the topic, and rejected if not good enough. i look out for plagiarism, and sometimes invest my own time tweaking the post. a few of the writers have become readers too. of course, there are writers who are obviously not interested in anything more than a link back. i guess as long as the content is original and relevant to your niche and up to the standards your readers have come to expect, there is nothing wrong. the no-follow link is a good idea, but will serve no purpose for these link builders. perhaps there is a danger in this practice that i am overlooking.
Ooo, even I got a request to do a guest post. COnsidering my blog is pretty new I was a little surprised. Now I know, I'll send them an email saying no. :-D
