Sudden increase in Blog views from Firebird browser - is it normal?
Hi guys,
In the past one month, my blog has started receiving large number of views from Firebird browser. I have had 2780 visitors from Firebird in one month which is 54% of my viewers. There are 3259 visitors from US as against 911 from India.
It has never happened that way. What is happening to my blog? Is it normal?
I am not able to find anything substancial in google about Firebird or the issue.
It would be great if someone can help me come out of this issue.

Even my Blogger account is showing Firebird as the major source. Firebird is the previous name of Firefox.
When an automated program requests your webpage, it will be able to set the browser name to whatever it wants. In this case, it is setting it as 'FireBird'.
Use GA for tracking your visitors. It excludes bot traffic 
( and so, your numbers fall down a lot )
There is nothing you can do about that traffic. Just ignore it. And don't visit referral url's which look unusual.

Did you try doing some browser compatibility testing? maybe using browsershots or such? When you or someone tries to do browser compatibility testing, these browsers and their visits get registered in your site traffic, and since this is requests that are getting generated from different IP's and locations almost all over the world, you receive traffic that is generated from different IP's and locations. And since these fetch your pages for testing compatibility, you can expect traffic using never or less heard of browsers like SeaMonkey, Konquerer, Dillo, Epiphany, etc.

CK Do you know those browser names or did you copy paste them? I think you overlooked the number specified by the TS : 2780 vsits in one month

I just copy pasted those names from browsershots. and referring to those stats, it's possible to get that number in a single day, so a whole month isn't very uncommon. If you'd like give it a try. This isn't uncommon for web and seo professionals to use those services to check compatibility of their websites over platforms

Ranjith, done that already . Since, I don't have an eye for art or literature , I've replaced "art" with "book" and read them, done it on the computer a lot of times, still like doing it .
I heard people saying that those books are too mathematical and use assembly language. I don't know whether it's true or not.
