Problem with my blog --- comments section
Until this morning, I had about 2000 odd comments on my blog. 10 minutes ago, when I checked, I only have 175. For some reason, the comments on my blog have disappeared prior to September this year.
Any ideas what could have happened? The only things I can think of are spam or hackers...
Any solutions (given that I'm technologically challenged)

Believe it or not, the same thing has happened to my. I didn't have half as many comments as yours, but I have lost about 30% of my comments! And I don't have comment moderation enabled. It's Sad

Huh? I'm not very sure, but I think some of the comments just came back (about half of them) At least that's what the widget on my sidebar says. Weird. Really weird.
Since you both are hosted by blogger, and since some of the comments have reappeared, I suspect that some server maintenance is going on from the blogger-server side. So wait and see, they may all come back!
Yes we both are hosted by blogger, & both are on custom domains (also through Blogger.) I suspected the same thing. But your reassurance helped. Thanks!
Hmm...Mags, it's good to know that you went through the same thing. Not good that you lost comments...but it seems to suggest that it's something to do with blogger custom domain users. Hope we get them back!

If the problem persists, it may be better to contact blogger. After all you are paying them for the server, so they ought to be of service to you.
Great. Now comments have disappeared again! More than the first time. I've lost at least half. WTF?!
This is frustrating.
@Psych Babbler & anyone else who is experiencing this problem, I have found a thread on Google Help Forums where all the people who are experiecing this problem have left a comment. Please do so too.
P.S.- A veteran on Blogger help forums claims this is a very much known issue. LOTS of people are experiencing it irrespective of whether they are hosted on Blogspot or on a custom domain.
No they have completely vanished. I know I'm technologically challenged but I do have common sense! 
If I go to the 'edit posts' section, I can see that posts prior to Sep 2009 have no comments.
But apparently there's a lot of bloggers experiencing the same thing. Some glitch with blogger. Just hoping it gets fixed soon...
