News Satire on Campus
Amid growing popularity of fake news and news humour sites in India, "News That Matters Not" (NTMN) (newsthatmattersnot.com, maiden IndiRank 79) is the first-ever site of the kind created and managed by students. NTMN was founded in November 2009, and has currently over 700 fans on Facebook and generates about 1000 pageviews daily. College students have responded well to the concept. NTMN is intended to inspire college students to write satire and humour, since most youngsters ignore this genre, considering it to be far-fetched and difficult. NTMN is updated almost daily on a blog, whereas the Facebook page provides news headline jokes occasionally. Innovative features include astrological section and a book review section.
