Blog enhancer : Zemanta
I tried to search about this on the forums but could not find one, hence this new post. This is about a nice utility that I came across sometimes back, this works as a blog content enhancer.
I blog using Blogger and firefox, and this has plug ins for both, whatever I write it does a search on web and gives the hints for labels and inline texts, once selected it also inserts the appropriate links on your blog by just a click of a button.
Now, I'm not a developer of this utility or so, but i found it productive and efficient enough, hence thought of posting here. On a similar note, if someone knows some better utilities then you can post that here as well, I'd love to see some new things to try out
Happy Blogging, Zemfied !
I use firefox too. I have downloaded the extension, lets see if it is very helpful.
thanks .
Harshal Thanks. A new information and look nice too. Will try it and write a review (will credit you in the post
)
Thanks.
Just starting using it for Hardware BBQ viz. blogger based. In-text links works the same way what WP has. It helps me as certain technical jargons/shortforms/abbreviations/form factor, etc. can be linked to relevant links way more easier than manually adding url links. I find it helpful, especially when I am writing reviews and benchmarks, most of which standard users end up searching manually or leaving the site halfway as they show disinterest. This is my second day and according to google analytics, avg. time on site increase twice the time.
Thanks for sharing ;).
As for me, I need not use it. I type everything that I get in my mind as the labels and the outgoing links, I don't wish to see my readers leaving my blog and going somewhere else.
Hey Ranjith, Recently Came across a tool and then thought of this reply of yours. This tool is called Apture, which opens a small pop-up on your screen to preview the links. you can have a look at my website for live demo, http://mercvision.blogspot.com/
Also I have used Zemanta to insert links and then Apture keeps the users on my website :)
Hmm, nice view there, but then, its your call right. I have shared it with everyone to let the community know of such a tool. Most of the times it so happens that technical blogs, have to give reference material, or explaination content for the jargon used, at such times, these tools come in handy..
I personally use the tool, to direct people to external content. I don't mind, for if my viewers like my content and language, they'd come back :)
Right on. Putting up jargons and no access to explain it shoos away readers but then again keep on mentioning it or manually linking it especially when you're in the zone jus sucks big time. This does the job although I do remove the Zemanta HTML code later on.
It is present by default in wordpress.com, you just need to go to the settings and check the recommendation thing, it's a free utility for wordpress bloggers.
it is helpful indeed!
Which one? Zemanta or Apture ?
I guess blogger does not offer any of it yet. :(
zemanta
