is our india really one of the most corropt countries
i want to keep this question of is our country now one of the most corropt countries till the past corroption was only till top state level but now it have reached at such a worst case that everywhere we are facing problems i guess this never happend before that a government had to change 3 times chief ministers of our state same time when they are ruleing so now the question is here we are not including the corropt countries whose names are out of boundry for us like middle east, pakistan and other but as we see ourself as developed nation how much are we sucessful or worst in the case of corroptions being compared with this developed countries of the world
We are 87/178 in corruption. (1 being the least corrupt.) I recently wrote an article about it on my blog, please have a look:
Our rank is very bad, but has been improving since the last decade.
Looks like a good score. You made my day !!
Amost in the middle. Neither completely corrupted nor a perfect nation.
its fact but do not farget there are many other countries which are improving a lot and there are many other countries which have maintianed themself in this but our country have come out in this wiht hte worst corroptions happening and because of corroptions we are not only in problem because of ecocnomy and specially the suffering from middle class and poor society but the subject of terrorism is some thing which have suffered more than expected

Corruption hasn't yet influenced z. It represents the final hope left.
i actually wudnt know. I have been to 3 countries. India, UAE, Amsterdam. India among the 3 seemed more corrupt. So untill I visit every single country in this world and spend enough time there , I will not be able to answer ur question. I take stats with a pinch of salt. When India becomes less corrupt, trust me, u and I will know.
Agree with you. Moreover, to keep apple to apple comparison, we cannot compare India to developed countries. That stage will come.
India has always been corrupt and it was never that 'only' the state govts or central govt or for that matter politicians taking the crown for being the most corrupt. The levels of corruption has grown to extreme proportions and has its roots so deep within the framework of society that there has been culture shift - the honest are often afraid of the corrupt.
The reason, all of a sudden, people have started hearing about the corruption and hence, feeling that corruption has grown to epic proportions, is because:
1. The media has exposed some major scans with the power of the RTI and excellent journalism recently.
2. Anna Hazare & Baba Ramdev taking up the issue to highlight and 'force' the govt to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill. [Even though I respect their motive behind the hungerstrikes and protest, I believe that what started off as a common man's fight against corruption has become a power struggle with dispicable politics being played - A light read about hungerstrikes]
3. The RTI - Right to Information - has opened the flood gates of information and hence exposed the corrupt practices of a large number of public offices.
Definitely there is a change in the winds. The following reasons are playing a big role here.
We have now a new generation of young, energetic population. The older generations are going away fast.
The newer generation places big importance on education. Hence, they know about corruption and the reasons. Politicians can no longer take them for a ride.
The newer generation have a fresh outlook on life. They are not putting up with corruption. People in general are fed up with corruption in everyday life and raising a red flag. They want good governance.
Politicans in India still belong to old school. Take a list of the top politicians in this country - too old ruling the too young. They are thinking their old tricks will keep on working.
From a statical overview it is not that corrupt. But when seen from a citizen's eye - Yes, it is. Every now and then, there's a new update carrying some 'ghotala' or other corruption issue which nudge the people and the govt. from the previous story that needs serious investigation - hence go on the pending desk.
it is really very shameful things that our cheif ministers of maharastra were replaced twice for the purpose of being corrupt and the others who are involved in this is different in the 80s the matter of taking loans from world banks and other internationals organsiations which were never paid back those days due to the bad report of india this banks had questions either to except and give them new loans during those days this was very big matter and still this cases are pending again if we see how is the experience of the international business world with india mostly they are not easily ready to give busienss here but again due to having great earning from here itself they have to start with here actually we all some or another way are responsible for this
Yes it is shame. And this too has come to be because of the ever vigilant media and public interest people. What will become of the wrong doers? We do not have any credible record of prosecuting the high and mighty. They might just again get away with it all. What a shame.
