Please help me understand... where is the disconnect.

I too had nominated 5 of my posts for the Original humour category and I too received a similar mail saying -

"We are sorry to inform you that your nomination for

IndiBlogger of The Month May 2009, Original Humor could not be accepted.

Most likely, your nomination was not accepted because your entry did not fall under the category of Original Humor. If you have any questions, please ask on the forum and we will help you out."

My blog does comprise of posts on a variety of topics - mostly releated to poems, observations and humor. But the posts that I submitted were related to the humor category.

So I too, like Roshmi, wait for a reply as to why my sense of humor which is often perceived as a sense of tumor (to those who suffer the wrath of it) was rejected? :)

I got a reject too this morning....Boo hoo sob sob....some mail that said, "Loooserrr, you are not funny enough!" or something like that! Anyways, relenless as I am, I painted my face fullto joker style after that, and have been falling over the same banana peel over and over again, so that people laugh! But It is also not working! Oh, I forgot to tell you, I am on hunger strike too! You listening, Renie!

Anyways, congrats Pankaj, for making it to shortlist! And Roshmi and Saurabh, 'chill guys', we wil rock next time!

We've had to push the date for voting a couple of times, which is why you all saw 10 hours, and then 1 day, and so on. Sorry about that - let's just say that the reasons were far from technical.

As for the moderation, I'm on a short vacation at the moment, so Anoop is the one who rejected you guys - I'll let him provide the answers.

And here I was taking the your-nomination-confirmed mail too lightly, marking it spam actually. So is it time for 'shameless self-promoion' ?

Thanks for the update and reverting back promptly.

Now that I think about it, the rejection-boohoo-approval-smileysmiley cycle in a way gave us some market visibility. It was as if  we were the Rakhi Sawants of this forum, crying hoarse for being left out and fanning the flames of the controversies. Heck, I could even throw in a cheap hindi news channel flashing the headlines of "Bharatiya yuva ke mazakiye blogo ka mazaak" (blogo - sick). We could be interviewed, shed crocodile tears, and be a reason for morchas and news channel debates. We would be the "wide-eyed-why-me-why-me-boohoo-waaah" victimized media darlings.

Anoop, now I see that you were secretly planning this publicity stunt to shoot up our blog market ratings, but we had to mess it up without waiting for the opportune moment. Why, o why, did we complain? Why didn't we contact that news channel and initiate a sting operation? But there's no use crying now. Sorry Anoop, we couldn't comprehend the big picture.

Yaay, my blog is approved - where the yaay sounds more like a whimpering dog who given a choice of the choicest of pedigree dog food and 15 days ago's leftovers chose the leftovers. The saddest yaay ever : (  : )
