Pittho’s world by Murtaza Razvi which was published posthumously has the story teller Sheiku narrating the story of his life to his lover Rani. As the blurb says, the story takes place in several countries...
A collection of stories that chronicles a changing Pakistani's society. Can very well be the memory of an Indian,Bangladeshi,Srilankan born in the sixties.
It is said never judge a book by its cover. I never really took this saying seriously until I came across the book “Pittho’s World” by Murtaza Razvi. Everything that contributes in the appearance of this book, from the cover to the blurb is kind of an illusion as the actual content of the book is far from what the blurb promises it to be.
Though the book is a work of fiction, it is a window to the real uncensored side of the Pakistani society as it transforms itself over the years.
There is not a moment where you would get bored. And the book itself is so tiny that you don’t need to devote much time.
'Pittho's World' seemed to have a very luring cover design and blurb, but the book was definitely not what the blurb promised.
a complete mixture of all human emotions taking you on a joy ride.
Heavy, one-time read, not the magical experience I had expected before reading. Good command over language though.
If not for the general enthusiasm for a book coming from someone across the border, this one might not find many takers.
