Regarding paid Guest Post

Hi All,Either you are having your own website or you might be knowing people who is having his/her website for different purposes.I got an proposal from a freelancing company who will post one article per website (related to your theme only, so that it will be useful for that website too) and in return you will get money provided that article is posted in your website for one year.

You will get money after publishing the article and after freelancer's green signal on the post. It may take a week to get paid but you will be paid for sure. (Around 2k INR per article per website) WinkSo, let me know how much you wish to charge for an article per website? So that I can deal with the third party.

P.S.: If you know anyone who is having his/her website and ready for guest post. Please talk to them and mention their websites with the mail. We can contact them too.Waiting for your response asap.

Regards,

Sanjeev

Let me play the devils advocate here :) For the benefit of the community

1. Sanjeev,it would be great if you disclose your commmision also(How much you are getting paid per blog)

2.Why this can be BAD for your blog

  • These companies will not post related blog post--Think about it,all they need is a leverage of your blog to increase their SEO rankings
  • Their posts will be very similar to all other posts on other blogs ,hence google can punish you
  • they will simply do keyword stuffing
  • they will not allow you to mention that it is a paid post anywhere in your blog
  • your regular readers will generally hate it

3)What can you do?

I have done this before and hence can give you some gyan

  • I refused to let them post anything ,instead offered to write my own article
  • I clearly mentioned,i will not do glowing reviews :They were ok because all they needed was a link
  • How much was i paid? <5000 rs for 1 article for 1 year

So, is it this way? I thought I have to post an article myself. Are they going to write on my site?

Sanjeev Kumar Jaiswal

Good One Madhur.

About Commission: Depends upon person to person. I am not charging middle man fee from my close frd circle. Now I can't do a favor without getting paid for my efforts. So I will charge around 500 INR from them. So, no burden to client and the website owner too.

Coming to your 2nd point:Before letting post to anyone's website, i will also review the article and If I find it's not worthy for website owner, i would reject myself. In this way spamming stuff, whatever u r saying will be less.

Other thing is, if you own a product or launch a website/company, you need promotion through some quality site's and contents. So, they will write such things what your users can't hate.Ex: my website is based on technical tutorials and guest post was about some coding techniques in javaScript , of course with one or two backlinks. How much it will harm Madhur.

So all depends upon who is posting what. I will make sure that content is upto date and post will be unique for sure. so no punishment from Google. I am into e-commerce and website development domain from last 6 years. :)P.S. I have very popular technical website which is not for profit organization. We help poeple technically without expecting a single bucks. What we expect is, return the same if somebody needs your help.India is still behind in such things. So, like others I am also trying to curve engineer's destination in better way.

rest is of course site's owner wish :D

That makes things pretty clear, Thanks Madhur and Sanjeev.

Sanjeev, all my two websites can be included (3rd blog, mera panna is a compilation of my bro's poetry and I don't think should be used for this purpose) and articles can be published on them based on relevance. However, after things are clear to me, I don't think that my story blog will be appropriate, but at the end of the day, if articles are relevant to the theme, I don't mind putting it up there.

In my case, I usually charged $20 per article. However, now they have started hiking their rates, I ended up getting $100 for an article two days back ! The lowest I got was $7 .... on the whole $15-$20 should be fine.

However, I only post these ad-posts in travel tips and check them thoroughly for plagarism.

Awesome Purnendu. Now i am also planning to develop one website for monetary benefits part from non-profit web portal.Because to maintain our non-profit web portal and to gift some cash vouchers for different occassions, we need fund. So, I will try to earn some money from other website and will use it in our technical web portal :DThanks for sharing your ads details :D

Correct Sanjeev, in my case also, I plan to use this money to use as give-away rather than using it personally. I'm adding new feature to my fiction site for my readers where they would be able to write stories of their own. If I get a regular in-flow of money from such sources, I can reward them well

Nice to know that Captain. I feel happy when poeple are not just running after money but they wish to give it back in some form to the society from there they belong.

All the best to all such people.

Thanks Sanjeev,

My point was to bring out these issues because a lot of scams are going on.Indiblogger is a very close community and it would pain me to see anyone in th ecommunity getting into something without completly understanding it

Also correcting one thing, my payout was >5000 not < . So there is chance of increasing the payout. Try it :)

Yes it depends upon the quality of website, no of hits and how much wroth for that client. Later He may increase it if our deal goes successful :DI know ppl who gets more than that just for a single ad on his/her website. :DPlanning to make ad based website for my bread and butter :P

Hi Sanjeev.

I was in doubt about a few things but now I feel I should give it a try after reading all the discussions between you, Madhur and Captain.

I am in for it. My blog is just a month old and I don't know how well it fits in. Add me to your network on indiblogger so that I can send you the link to my blog.

I have two blogs but planning to terminate one with blogspot and retain the dot com blog.

Thanks for bringing this opportunity to indibloggers.

I am not interested in anyone using my blog for publicity. Would rather like to get paid for writing on someone's site. I don't want to sell the platform yet. But interested in selling content.

Aravind Bachu

Even i felt the same, but i severely need to offset some hosting costs. Adsense has been acting strange. After running for a week or so, when i touch around, $2-$3, The account gets disabled. It happened 6 times and i don't think i can make a penny from it.

Money wasn't a motive for blogging, but if you CAN make some, why refuse?.....this was my thought.

TF Carthick

My personal view is that for struggling bloggers, readers are hard to come by. After building a reader base with great difficult, I don't want to piss them off by putting up advertisements or paid articles. That is why I don't even use google ads. And anyways I am not building a theme based platform. It is a repository of my personal writings. So anything which is not my writing has no place there. So I don't want to do anything that even slightly distract my readers from my writings.

This kind of scheme is ok for people who are building a platform.
