Google Adsense Alternatives

For those who have not been approved by Adsense or want to try something different, here are some top alternatives.

Infolinks, ads shown by underlying keywords.

Bidvertiser, similar to adsense.

Chitika, again similar to adsense but search engine based.

Kontera, similar to infolinks. Used by many top sites.

Clicksor, no idea about this one, never tried it but have seen it on many sites.

Adbrite, you allow others to advertise on your site and get paid. If you have decent traffic, it can work well.

Yahoo YPN, yes Yahoo too has a programme but you need an USA address (tough).

These are the popular ones, there are more but not really aware of them. If you know of others then feel free to ad them here.

Practically Google AdSense has no good alternative unless you really have an outstanding website. Other good networks will not accept low quality websites or blogs. However, here is a list :

  • LakeQuincy Media : For developers only. CPM based Ad Network. Very high CPM. Tough to get in.
  • Tribal Fusion : Needs a certain number of pageviews, CPM based, payrate is less than LakeQuincy but it is otherwise for all niche.
  • BlogAds : You can set your asking price. Difficult to get in unless the blog is really good.
  • BuySellAds : You can set your asking price. Easier to get in than BlogAds.

I read somewhere that there is no point in monetizing a blog till it reaches 100,000 hits/month. Any comments on this ppl?

You are right on the traffic. You need about 4000 hits a day to get anywhere with any advertising.

I have a site that has more than 1 Lakh visitors a month and I was refused with BuySellAds, it speaks volumes about them.

BuySellAds tends favor Tech blogs over any other genre. This is one of the main reasons for the rejection of most blogs at BSA.

Thats quite some effort put in Shalu. I've got adsense approved but the pageviews need a lot of working to do. That too if we remove unique pageviews, then the number drops. A lot of patience I guess.

even i barely get 200... but i think it helps to see how many people visited and read... although blogs may not be the best way to earn through writing

One more thing that ad networks look for is the visitor information. So, even if we have 4000 hits per day and 3500 are from India, many of them reject. That's mainly because the major ad networks do not address this market and the ones that do, pay very less. We can just hope that the situation will improve with time.

I agree, that is exactly whats happening. There are not enough advertisers from India.

exactly what do you mean by hits?

visitors or unque visitors only or pageviews? I am unable to understand from where should i pull trafffic in.

Shaluji, how many posts did you write to get 1 lac visitors a month?.

I observed that as posts grew, visitors automatically grew....i had 30 posts which got 500 visitors a month but now i have 52 posts and around 2500 visitors a month. I used some seo tips as well this time.

Hits are both returning visitors, uniques and first time visitors.

There are couple of contextual advertising programs which serves as alternatives to adsense but the CTR is disgusting compared to Google Adsense. Clicksor is some what better than bidvertiser, adbrite and other programs. Webmasters and bloggers need to concentrate more on content and traffic.

More traffic=More earnings Smile
