I have a question in mind that how can a gret idea be converted into a proper story? It is like you have a perfect idea on how to write a piece of fiction upon, you know what happens in the story, but how can it be delivered perfectly to the reader? I could really use some tips.

Well Harshal. You can research the net. You can find a lot of stuff. Here are some posts having my views on the same.

But all said and done, one can keep analyzing. But story writing is an art and not a science. It is not like you can give the algorithm and any monkey can start churning our quality fiction. It is an art and it has to come naturally. You can develop through practice and consciously studing popular writers to see what all techniques they have used to make their story effective and attempting the same in your fiction.

Agreed TF that writing is an art. Someone cannot be taught how to write exceptionally god stories or fiction, but surely one can improve his/her skills.Thank you for the links. I shall surely read them. :)

*have lots and lots and lots of PATIENCE (not that much required for a short story though) Wink

*either sketch the whole plot in your mind and then start filling details into it... or, think of a fragment of situation and then imagine a sudden event that can follow and likewise it'll continue... the former method sounds more pro indeed Smile

*read your story after writing few pages after you've taken some rest and see how much your written piece is convincing you... be critical, sarcastic and whatever you wish to be with it Laughing..........................

*STARTING PROBLEM is a commonly encountered problem... if you get the lube for it share with me too Tongue out

great inputs.

Anumoy- thank you for the inputs. They are truly helpful. I actually start to write on a topic and then get lost as to how to continue it convincingly.

Well, for me, I guess one thing has been helpful.. I always keep noted with me whenever possible. The original quotes, ideas, gimmicks, by friends or any character in my life is recorded in the same instant by me. That's what it helps. At the end, when I sit back and ponder over the notes, I have a ready frame for a beautiful story with original words.. I have just to connect the links. The best advice thus would be dont ever keep something to write later. Put up a note somewhere you can remember. It would really help.Hope this answers your question. Smile

nice inputs. jotting down instantly points help a lot.
