While surfing Indivine I found my work was copied, the only change was, she added 'sometimes' and changed 'words' to 'air'

Is there any way we can stop Plagiarism?

Now, her blog is restricted. Here's the link to her Indiblogger profile :

Saru, please provide here the link to your post and the post she has copied for the proof. Indiblogger punishes plagiarism by removing the posts and at times bloggers from their platform. We are there with you in support against plagiarism.

I suupose an algorthm can be written to stop thus. But it would take so long to do a search on all these blogs. This is sad but its happening everywhere. http://www.keralatourism.org/kerala-article/227/paniyeli-poru.phpThat photo was taken by me. And sadly the kerala govt. has stolen it. And so many other bloggers have. I hadn't watermarked it because I want people to share stuff. But they can still put a courtesy nevin thomas under the snap.

Nevin Thomas told me as much on my blog. It feel bad, we choose to not copyright or watermark because we love people sharing stuff, and they let us down! :(

and after a few such incidents, i started to watermark my digital art, i couldn't lose anymore. so have you started to watermark your work yet? please do!

Nevin Thomas

I have started doing it but I feel bad about it. I am not a great photographer like Joshi Daniel or everyone else here. I travel extensively and the Nature has always has something in store for people like me. A rainbow, a purple sunset and so on. So I've always felt that watermarking something that was gifted to you , was unfair. But no one in the net seems to understand the trouble we take to get into these places albeit for the fun of travelling. And that hurts.

Saru, I have once stood the same place as you are now...and also wrote a post about it.Hope it helps.

@Nevin...Ah! Thanks...but this was written by my own experience when I needed the same help as Saru .And as you know , codes has to be codes and I have credited the codes .

You are indirectly giving the hint that "you can copy by the feed".So its better to delete that sentence.

What do u say Mam?

Uma Maheswari Anandane

@Sampath - The fact is fact...and that was what had happened in my case ..through Feed even though I used right click disabled and selection disabled. So, if there one way to safe gaurd yourself from these (only u really want to), keeping checking and if you find one, mail them or intimate the other side for feedback and if they don't respond any , mail the domain hoster. It works!

as of now, her [i am guessing it is she, though given the plagriarist tendency, one can even steal gender] homepage can be accessed through google cache, though her blog has been made invitation only. how does one get invited to such blogs? do you need to prove your worthiness? how? should you have material worth copying? or should you have been a worthy copier? anyway, here is the google cached page link for those interested. as it is a cached page, it will be there only till the bots do another crawl and update it with the permission denied page.

Well, according to me speaking out and putting these things on public forum like on Indiblogger would surely help spread the message and hope the guilty will learn from their mistakes. Good to see her account is deleted.

In reality its really hard to avoid plagiarism. The only way to make an end to it is creating awareness.

Saru Singhal

I agree Harish. I think it's impossible. Some are intelligent enough to edit the post once you catch them and some are aggrogant enough to admit. I have witnessed copied post getting acclaim on blogging platform. Can it get any worse than that?

Even i feel that getting inspired from and copying is a two different things

but often copy and give it a name of being inspired ....hence it disheartens the person , the creator of the content , about sharing it with others .

Maybe we bloggers should be given  a relief with that , so that we can share our content over the internet without any fear....!!

:)

I understand Aryaansh but seems like there is no relief :(

But how can we track them ? How did you track the culprits Saru ?? I remember some one with name keerthana also read my blog ! I wonder if she copied mine too. No clue how we can stop this ? It's like a Dialy ritual these days . What's more surprising is some r still roaming out there flaunting each copied entry as their own With too many followers !! Saddens me !! Thanks for reporting Hope there is some tool to disable copy paste If any of u know such thing please let me know Thank u !

Afshan, please subsribe to CopyScape and also you have proteciton banner and put it on your blog. Also do a periodical scan to know the details for palgarism.

We can't do much. I wrote to this girl who copied my poems and she said 'you are a sweet person and you write such wondeful poetry, so you shouldn't speak like this.' I mean, first they copy, then they teach me how to speak with crooks like them. Can you beat that? Also, disabling copy-paste helps and that's the best you can do.

This is really disgusting, is the person on indiblogger!

If yes, than why can't Indiblogger Team and Moderators, start acting against such bloggers by blocking them on this platform. We shouldn't have a place for them in this forum.

@RaoWords- Copyscape gives a partial list. It shows only one website which has copied my poems, though my poems are atleast on 7 blogs and uncountable Facebook Pages.

select your lines and do a google search....it'll show more results than copyscape..
