htcaccess and conacalization.
are htcaccess and canocalization the same thing?Please help me to canocalize my site (I removed the address so that the moderator does not delete it as you people mentioned below.) I request you people to study the source code and see if it is canocalised or not.

There may be some cases where different URL's refer to the same page. For example, www.abc.com, www.abc.com/, www.abc.com/index
In such cases using a rel=canonical tag, you can tell search engines as to which of those URL's you would like to be shown in search results.

The concept of conacalization is in general applicable to websites and not blogs. Since yours is a blog powered by wordpress, you need not bother about it.
Yup Ranjith has explained it quite beautifully.....If you have any further confusion, you have the option to Google or Wiki it by your own....and yes please delete the url from the post.....

By the way, its not at all advisable to play with any of those functions as it can mess things up and lock you out of your own web server 
We learn things better by messing them up. But all such experiments should be preferrably done with a new hosting account ( or an account which has no hosted sites ) and not with one on which a website is hosted. If we mess up an active hosting account, things would become too difficult. 
If learning is a concern that too playing with HTAccess, I guess either create a subdomain and play there else for indepth, create a virtual PC and play there in your computer..
As for most of the bloggers, rarely you may ever need to know HTaccess even exisits :P
Of course, bloggers rarely need to play with htaccess files. And as you have said, the best place to play is our own computer rather than the server that is serving its visitors.
SO do I need to do anything at all then ? I use wordpress platform and should I do anything or is it done by itself?
In general, I dont think anything is needed with htaccess
Just follow the rule : Don't touch something until they should be. 
Wordpress is a complete CMS. Though I'm not a WordPress user, I sure that the coders of WordPress wouldn't have done something as silly as making a user edit the .htaccess files instead of providing that functionality in the DashBoard.
