IMPORTANT QUESTION

How do people end up getting so many votes on indiblogger but no comments on their blog? I do not get it. New to all this. That's why, asking. No offence! :)

If anything, don't simply promote someone to get promoted. Read, leave a comment and promote only if you like it.

Do not take me seriously, just an opinion. :)

you have got a nice point RED HANDED, I'm also new to indiblogger and I'm seeing lots of posts with so many votes which are not useful for everyone, I think people are saying others to vote for them, without reading the blog post, without thinking of that post, following one thing i.e. Just Vote and Forget. It's not good, people must give their opinion and vote only if the post is really useful for them and they liked that.

voting and commenting are two different things. I mostly read, comment and then promote. many just promote for reverse promotes. many like post and promote it. there are different factions. one can do whatever one likes. one cannot force anyone to chage for them.

Actually, you lose nothing when you get votes without comments.

Whatever be the kind of votes you got, it still helps you get featured on the home page of IB.

It will get you more readers and most of them read ( and vote / comment ) instead of just voting.

Of course, if you don't want readers, votes or comments, you can ignore everything. Cool

I too agree with what you said. Most people (IMO) vote to get back votes.

However, there are sometimes restrictions on commenting. Like for example, there are some wordpress blogs (can't say whether all are same), or some blogs with third party commenting systems like DisQus, where you need to log in to your account to comment, thus, effectively blocking a user who doesn't have an account.

I have been blogging for a while, I haven't figured it out, but logic tells me votes are likes, while comments could be like/dislike and compulsive reaction to what is written. Anyway I do not crack my head too much I write because I want to write.
