great initiative!

@nandini: my kinda too.

I knew and that's a great  Renie :)

It would also be good to add certain rules after selecting what posts is to be blogged about. I recall being a poetry community member and there were rules which indeed reaped good benefits atleast for a lazy (or having no time /busy schedule ) bloggers like me.

One rule (if considered) maybe any one who participates should read or comment on alteast five other participating posts of their choice.

Two - the comments should be a quality comment and in fact bring out more honest opinions on the post.

Anyone who agrees here on this?

I think right now writing posts be the main goal. That too gonaa take a lit of sincere efforts. But idea is not bad

I liked the initiative and there are some really good ideas posted there but what will be the incentive for making people blog on the selected topic because different people are voting for different topics so, what if they choose to blog on their favorite topic rather than the one with highest votes.

(PS- The question is asked to improve the significance of the initiative please refrain from giving silly replies like people can blog on any or all topics they like)

As per my understanding, one topic that gets highest votes will be the topic of the week for everyone to write on. Then they will make public the name of blogger whose topic got selected. now self promotion by the initiator of topic too is not allowed as it will risk the start up of vote beggings.

what will be the incentive for making people blog on the selected topic

At least for a few months, people will be interested in checking out the posts on IndiSpire. So, on an avergae posting on IndiSpire gives higher visibility than posting on IndiVine.

what if they choose to blog on their favorite topic rather than the one with highest votes

If you submit that post to IndiSpire, then it will be rejected because you are supposed to write on the selected topic only.

Great idea, but don't you think that the 1.5 days time given to participate for each topic is too less?

Ranjith
from hyderabad

I think 1.5 days time is only for the first edition.

For the second editionn, the topic will be selected today at 10:00 pm and you can submit your entry for it till next Thursday 10:00 pm.

So, it is one week time.

This is what I understood. I might be wrong Foot in mouth

Good one! Especially the creativity of the topic, in(di)spire. I guess there are no attractive giveaways like other contests. And I have an idea idea for that though I don't know how practically feasible that would be.

Since most of the topics carry a good cause behind them, if the best write-up could be published in a magazine or some daily/weekly, it will be a good boost for bloggers. At the same time, a good message will be sent across to the country through the article. Pbably IB would need to either bring up a monthly magazine or buy it's own column in a leading daily for that. It has all the chances to take several time-pass bloggers a step ahead to real writers.
