Though I'm not into any of these contests, what I strongly feel, other than increasing the bulk of grand prizes, allotting more number of prizes (may be in the name of consolation, participation or early bird type things) would involve a majority of bloggers over here and that would profit the sponsor [thinking cap off]

Oman is beautiful, have been hearing it from my best friend since last 2 years.
And finally discovered it myself virtually. Did everything to just make a place in the three. A poem, a video, a sketch and lots of interaction and research.
I am sure each one who has put in efforts is lusting to be there... all the best to everyone.

Why is it that I cannot promote a post after viewing it?
As always, there is a "View post to promote" icon. By pressing it, the post appears in another tab. I read it, decide to promote it, but the "View post to promote" icon is still there!
Instead, I have to press the "more" icon which pulls up the post in the same tab! I then press the back button, which DOES NOT always bring me back to the post. IF it does, I then can press the "Promote post" icon.
In short, it is EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT to promote posts. WHY?!
Try to promote the post by accessing it from the blogger's profile. It usually works.

it generally takes couple of months ( 2-3 months in most contests ), but could be earlier too
Thanks Nandini. It might be a good idea to give a tentative date for the results too when the contest is announced. Which also implies that deadlines should be deadlines unless participation is too low. I know Renie started a thread on this and have commented there as well. . In any case, all the best to everyone who participated in this one.
