Why do you need the date on the contest page when Renie himself announced it? 

I'm sure it is Renie himself who said it and not someone else who changed their profile picture and name. 

@Ranjith : There are people who hardly look at the forum, the dates should be updated on the contest page FIRST, then the declaration in the forum can serve well :)

I have a query about the contests in general. It is stated for each contest that entries will be displayed once the contest closes. Now suppose some extra smart (dishonest rather!) participant changes the entry after seeing the other entries, getting ideas and "inspiration" from those? What then?

Should not the contest organizers save the entries as soon as submitted so effectually they are locked & if any participant makes changes later, it is known to them & the entry gets disqualified? What do you think? Is this possible to implement to avoid prizes being given to unfair practices?

If a person makes changes to his entry after the deadline, their entries will most probably be disqualified ( minor changes are allowed ) 

Now, even if the entries are hidden, a Google search will show many posts. He can still get inspired by other posts. 

Now, taking ideas and inspiration from others is not a bad thing. ( My personal opinion ) - There were many discussions about this on previous contests threads.

no i wrote in earlier page they shud announce it before 9 pm...so they announced it earlier!
