Hector Hugo Munro is the real name and was better known by the pen name Saki. He is known for his satiric wit and adroit dialogue. He is a man of few words. He was a tall tale teller. It is one of the shortest stories. It is a story crafted in only couple of pages but not short of surprising the reader, it is indeed highly enterprising in its brevity. The Open Window was Saki’s most popular short story.
