Nestled on the outskirts of Kathmandu, Nepal, near the foothills of the Shivapuri Hill is a unique temple to Vishnu. The temple has a 1400-year-old reclining statue of Vishnu that lies supine in the middle of a lake. We visited the temple during our visit to Kathmandu and were blown away by the beauty of the Vishnu idol that is carved from a single black basalt block.
