     One can use this website called stopwatch to know which thing on your blog is taking more time to load and then take corrective measure .

The key is to have compressed pictures, video links from Youtube and short description setting i believe.  I removed the labels from the settings, now the site loads in 3.2 secs

You can also use these free tools to measure the blog load time.

1. http://tools.pingdom.com/    It gives you the time taken by different page elements to load.

2. http://pagespeed.googlelabs.com/   Gives you suggestions to speed up your site.

@dhiraj, ranijth thank you:).

Also, for wordpress users, the super cache plugin is very helpful. It is one of the most widely used plugins.

But the stopwatch mentioned by you only shows the total time taken to load the blog. So, there seems to be no way to find out the element that is delaying an otherwise speedy blog.
