yes, Ranjith, you are absolutely right. My Mozrank too jumped from 3.25 to 5.49. And even without a lot of traffic, my alexa rank too is coming down.

May be next time, our ranks will go down again after IB changes it's mozRank part of the IndiRank Algorithm.

Seems like IndiRank takes those stats (atleast alexa) daily.

As far as I know, the IndiRank crawler checks for Alexa and other metrics just once on the day when it has to give ranks.

@CK: I do not know where I read it but I remember reading somewhere that the daily updations used some sort of short-cut algorithms whereas the complete reassessments were done on the 12th of every month. I am not techie myself so I may be wrong but it seemed reasonable to me that the site could not be doing a complete exhaustive reassessment of all websites and doing the rankings daily.

I don't know what could be a complete reassessment of a site, if it's not having any effect on the ranks, and in this case we are concerned about Alexa Rank only, which itself is updated everyday, so, I don't think that should create any problem, unless IndiRank bot takes the alexa rank for a particular day of that month, say, 12th of August, or fetches an rank daily and takes out an average and then uses that rank to calculate IndiRank for that month. To me, this seems to be the most appropriate reason because, what I now have is my site's Alexa Rank for September, and not for August.

@CK: Nor do I :) How I saw it was that alexa was giving relative rankings. To update the rankin system meant to assess all sites' performance over the last 3 months and then rank all of them in relative order to give the ranking. To do that daily would mean that the reworked everything for the 90 days (Or so) before for all sites and again redo the relative ranks. I do not know that they will be doing it like that daily.

If you see the Indirank stats it used to always pick up for 12th in the past - seems to have become 13th now (See the XS Axis of the chart where they give month and date). Sept 12/13 is not yet here, so they must have gone by Aug.

Thanks for your insight on this.  Maybe you are right about the indirank bot picking up the Alexa rank on that date, because I faced a similar issue last time too after the indirank update.

My pagerank has been 0 (unranked) throughout, my blog is only 5 months old. I'm desparatley waiting for the next google update.

Only my alexa rank increased drastically in these 5 months. It's 1,83,000 now :)

maybe it'll take some time before you get the ranks. migrating to custom domain means losing all your ranks, reputition, etc. So, unless, you again build your site's ranks, and reputition, you won't be able to get a good alexa rank. And I don't think you can do anything except working on your content and promoting to get back your mozrank.
