After the introduction of GST, clients ask GST number on the invoice sent to me. Although I have a valid PAN, I don't have a GST number. Do I need to register one? Or can I leave it blank as I write post for brands only on rare basis? Please guide with details. Thank you in advance.
PS: After a long time and I cannot find a topic on GST in the forum and if I missed the link somewhere, plz help

If they still insist, tell them they'll have to pay additional 18%. Register for GST, file it and give them the copy of the receipt. GST payment is always paid by the customer and not by a service provider, though SP has to pay for his registration and filing. You don't need to if you earn less than 20 lakh PA from this line of work.

I read many blogs about GST....Came to know that still there is lot of confusion as there is no inter state exemption..Freelancers and Bloggers are asking for the 20 Lakh limit to be available globally and not only on intra state sales..Hope there will be some clearance on this soon.
