Hokay.. we figured out why our crawler is so slow this time.. it's our new, upgraded, pain in the wrong end antivirus! Everytime the crawler came across a blog with a "possible phishing website" warning, the AV would lock that thread down for a few minutes... We've turned that option off, hopefully this time, it really should not take more than a few hours. Sorry folks, you'll have to wait a little longer and bear with Addy's jokes 
- I'm off now to buy some fevicol and replace all the hair I've pulled out today.
