It's crime. You require for digital proofs of your posts if you go for Police! One of my friend has given the big fight. All that she has published on her blog. It is in Marathi. Evne she didn't know who was he. One thing I would like to suggest, though you are very experienced and we get always help from your blog. Post all this on your blog expose them.

Also, it is possible to arrest the person immidiately as I see you have digital proofs. One more thing this is more serious crime coz they are getting ads and money. This info I got on Kanchan Karai's site http://www.mogaraafulalaa.com/. All the blggers must read if they understand Marathi.

Even my article was copied some months back word to word... I politely wrote a comment on that blog requesting to remove the post or at least give the credit... But no one replied and the blog closed after that!!
But its very irritating to see that posts that you have written are blatantly copied...

I was in VC last yr , on this issue by Sakal Media Group. In Mumbai Police Cyber cell and advocates was on dissussion. It's good that in your case the site by the copy cat is closed but there are some cases in which this does not happen. So no use of politeness for them.

Police suggested, we should do every possible effort to protect our creation.  Which we do not do much seriously.

I will just give the summary what they said,

  1. we should clearly mention terms and conditions. Also Arti this is especially for you, as you put your own images.......don't forget to put watermark there.
  2. Make copyrights of RSS feeds too.
  3. Keep RSS feed short. ppl copy all the article easily through RSS feed.
  4. Copy - paste disable, right click disable codes and codes to protect images. All this we should try. This will reduce the attempts of copying surely.

arti thanks.

this website owner has now started to remove my name from the blog but not article.

SM,the first thing you should do is get your blog a creative commons copyright. Then, try to approach the owner of the copied blog, and ask him to remove, mention the amount of days you'll wait to see the post removed. After that,if it isn't removed,go to the police.Or,you can report this in google or something, where many people will read it and offer to take your side :)

Mohini Puranik

I think this is very serious coz he has earned money on the writings of sm, so is it enough just to request the owner to remove this? What about the money they earned?

When my blog was totally new, had some articles only but was not known to people. One famous Hindu related site , stolen some of lines - they just put it changing some words, so there cudn't be any case.

The worst thing was that, I was working as a mentor for their site for free, as they do the lawful protests to the things going on against hindus. I felt, this is really nice and I shud work as a service of nation.

So I worked a lot , sent very important article too, as they asked for that to me. They just refused then , that they have recieved any such article.

Finally they stolen the main theme of my blog - The practical applicability of Indian Culture epics like Ramayana in today's context.

They just added this theme on their comment form.

Though I know all this, this can not be proved. They never disclose their names. Their thinking must be as I am new blogger, no need to give any value to my talent. But as they are well established . They have right to  do anything.
