Google + is by invite only, any Indiblogger has experienced the new offering ?

The IndiBlogger forum is now a read-only archive. Every public discussion is still here to read, but new topics and replies are closed.

i have submitted my mail id for Google + so far my account is not activated, maybe google is trying to experiment with the platform before throwing it open to the public.  I am sure google + will be another good social networking platform with novel features and high security.  Pl do pen your feedback whether Google + is worth it

For the time being, from today (June 30) new members are not being accepted.

Ranjith

A website : http://googlewaveinvites.com/ was also created for that purpose. But now, it has some other content. Any idea about it?

Ranjith

Thank you.

Ranjith
from hyderabad |

@ Neeraj I don't think so because I have seen even problogger or DBT (mention about it) Might be the purpose of that site was solved and so the content might have been changed.

Neeraj Rawat

Just check the domain whois it was purchasesd in 2009 then thought someone from the beta test team leaked the idea then again read your post as it was confusing but then like oops its regarding wave lolz totally my mistake I thought Google+ dont know what it was see this you would know what I was talking about http://www.expertsgalaxy.com/2011/07/beware-of-fake-google-plus-invites.html#

Ranjith

Those scammers about whom you have mentioned in your post should have rephrased 'Download Google invite' to 'Get a google invite' Smile

I've written short article on the First impression...

I read your post and if thats all there is to it, then I am sure that I wouldnt be going for it... I never tried wave either and seems I was better off not doing it!

Ranjith

I thought till today that Google wave and Google + are the same.

vaibhav jadhav

Yeah,

i got my g+. Its better than FB in the sense that you can edit your comments. If your family members are in network then you can post uncensored  content limited to your friends.

It doesnot have features like 'notes' to post your articles. being new i am still to explore more about communities.

V Kashyap
from Chennai |

Yes but since the sharing posts are without character limitations, you can share your articlees on the newsfeed itself and tag only certain friends.

vaibhav jadhav
from Mumbai |

Well i have done it one because it feels special to have g+ invite :P

two: most of my friends started using g+ (not that they are not active on FB) leaving me no option. Time will tell who suvives but according to me g+ is a potential competitor.

But hey mark zuckerberg has promised some surprize in a month hopefully to keep FB users glued.

So Facebook seems to be waking up, best feature for them is to have movie reviews or sports live updates

Yash Bhatia

Just got mine 2 days ago! It's amazing! Cool

Better than FB, i daresay.

umesh derebail

Good to hear Yash that you liked Google +

Ranjith
from hyderabad |

I was too disappointed on seeing this mesasge:

This feature is not available for your account. You must be over a certain age to use this feature.

Creating a new account right now.

umesh derebail
from Mumbai |

Oh than you have to wait maybe to be eligible for GOOGLE +

Ranjith
from hyderabad |

Too big a process. Had to enter the captcha thrice. The sound based verification emitted some strange sounds that I could not understand. And next, the message 'Some unusual activity has been detected' has been displayed. I had to verify with a mobile.

Can google make it simpler?

Ranjith
from hyderabad |

Something unusual did happen. The invite was sent to my g mail address1. I had created a new account 2. But still clicking the join button in 1 automatically logged me into 2. Looks starnge.

umesh derebail
from Mumbai |

Ranjith please don t hurry up and let your mail account be hacked....it will be a big loss

Neeraj Rawat
from Delhi |

I already have a Google + account and arranged a giveaway on my site,if anyone wants here as well ping me your email address dont start posting your email here address for spammers to take it and spam you

And yeah after the failure of Buzz & Wave, its really a nice product from Google and will surely beat facebook in upcoming days as people are already pissed off with the privacy fetures in fb,facebook already got mad after Google+ launch atleast at my side servers arent working chat option sometimes coming at top etc etc

umesh derebail
from Mumbai |

Google has bowled a googly to many FB users i suppose with invitation route, make them to crave for the same

Neeraj Rawat
from Delhi |

Yeah they are still experimenting with it that is why not open for all and then also they are getting plenty of request, facebook ignored many things even people kept on asking on their help pages that Google never did and would be the result for Google+ going up and FB down

Mohini Puranik

I have sent my id just now, let's see. But I hope it will be successful. Nice thread Sir.

umesh derebail

Mohini i hope you get connected with GOOGLE plus

Ranjith
from hyderabad |

On entering into Google+, I just could not understand what I have to do next. Smile With whom do I connect? Myself?

But the visual effects are appealing, especially those related to circles and the way in which a deleted circle moves out of the screen rolling.

Hope that Google+ succeeds.

umesh derebail

You enter my name or someone whom you want to align with from google, add [email protected], let us check out whether i will be getting an invite

The title you have entered while making your submission looks a bit funny. It says: Why I prefer facebook to Google (and not Google +)

Can ever people stop using the services of Google!

Ranjith

I liked that point regarding communities and pages pointed out by you towards the end.

umesh derebail

Every product has some drawbacks, so must GOOGLE + has negative shades, editing feature is good, and hangout seems to be promising
