India shining ?
How many of you think that after the huge publicity which Guwahati episode provoked, our police force would have become more proactive, vigilant, sympsthetic & cooperative ? Perish the thought.Yesternight at 8.45 pm,sitting in my room,i heard a girl shouting"help help roko roko"of course the bike was nowhere in sight when i rushed out but my neighbour too was looking in the direction where it must have gone.So i turned in & at once dialled 100.When i told the cop about this he said perhaps some kids were playing pranks.I replied perhaps yes,& perhaps not;why don't you inform your patrol? At this he replied he will send a cop to my house & i should tell him what transpired.
Can you imagine how far that bike would have gone by then? This, while a check-post is only four minutes walk from my home!
Most state police force is an inefficient force. Nothing is shining; the only thing shining is the politician’s Swiss bank balance.
Very true !
People who keep complaiing about India lacking this and that, have you done anything to improve the conditions around you ? How many of you don't pay bribes and force the policeman, sarkari babu etc to follow the long albiet correct procedure ?
How many of you vote for the right candidate without any consideration of personal benefits, acquaitance, caste etc ? How many of you do something concrete rather than sitting on your asses and being a keyboard wrrior and an armchair general ? A majority of people, even on this forum limit their activism only to chai-biscuit discussions, tweeting and updating fb status.
Jaidev i think this comment is for the general public &you might be right to some extent, but so far as i am concerned i do try to do my bit. While my first statement collaborates this,i followed it up the next day by talking to the SP.Regarding the rest of your queries also,i think iam not in the wrong, but we have to choose a contestant out of those who are available.
