Are taglines necessary? Yes. If crafted well, they give the casual reader a quick idea of what your blog is about. Mine tagline is "food and travel through a Bangalore lens". Leaves no room for doubt as to content!

mine used to be "not as bland as most will believe" with aa take on my life that seems so uninteresting to others.

I feel tag line highlights the mood of your blog!! Its like a blog introducing self in one line :)
Mine is "We do not remember days, we remember moments!" And I just love this line.
Oh Finally after much deliberation, i changed my tag line from "Pondering Musings or Quintessential Drifts?" to "The Wandering Soul's Wander Tales.." 
Earlier i started my blog as a personal journal but somewhere down the lane, i made it a full fledged travel blog and never managed to change the initial Tag Line.
But now i guess it is clear that it is travel blog unlike earlier where my tag line didn't actually match the content.
Now i am in another fix though. My blog URL is still ponderingmusings.blogspot.com and i would like to change that to something related too.. but i am scared all my search hits will be gone and the rss feed readers too..
Has any one of you changed your url for some reasons?

Well, this topic is no doubt an eye catcher, coz every blogger when types his tag line for first time, always give a second thought about how well this would go with his blog. Speaking of personal experinece I love adding taglines, love naming things and always thought of ma blog's tagline as best and my illusion was broken by this thread. KUDOS PEOPLE!!! I loved tag lines of yer blog. It takes creativity to put all your thoughts, your content in one small line. HATS OFF TO YOU ALL!!!
My blog is about RANDOMNESS, its like my bedroom, I dump things here, I Decorate sometimes, I cry here and laugh here, I try to bring order here out of the chaos spread all over on ma mind only to get it more disorderly. SO ITS ME and My dilemma
