i'M fed up...Just 'another' constitutional amendment..n as usual Media celebrated it...itz excusable...but now public hav started doin de same...bloggersvilla has taken up de cause it seems. too many posts supporting de phenomenon.

hmm hey lemme ask ye...just tell me wat ull feel wen u find out dat yer daughter is lesb or yer son is gay...b frank k..? i mean no offence :) curiosity(hope de cat's not killed)..

i'm not speakin against homosexuality...just dat im least bothered...itz 'human' u c...de makerz of de constitution included all "voluntary sexual intercourses against the order of nature wid any man, woman or animal" under UNNATURAL SEXUAL OFFENCES sec377 I.P.C.

wid 58 additional females for every 1000 males...kerala do exposed lesbianism thru media years back...n de De current amendments only favour intercourse wid concent...

wat i hate is de unwanted publicity dat de topic is gettin...der r a billion tiny yet vital day 2 day amendments dat passes our notice...Yeah my point is leave de homosexualz alone...de law makers did wat they do ...ensure 'no descremination''' The topic ends der...de media celebrated it for few days...but lez entertain it no more...let dem lead der lifez...de social stigma may drive off slowly..perhaps days wil cum wen people shout yeah im homosexual!!!but y all hue n cry...wid all 'jai jai' n 'i support them slogans'...???

now turnin 2 de lighter side...beastiality, incest, sodomy, buccal-coitus, exist de same way homosexuality exists..all r as per definition (ref-Forensic Medicine, by Reddy) Behavioral Abnormalities...Imagine laws being passed protecting them from descrimination...will de same media PLAY DRUMS??? will similiar posts fill de blogosphere...I think...just think k...'bestiality' will remain as uncensored comedy in movz like american pie or euro trip, n de rest will b part of de adult-xxx movies...Yet people luv 2 say 'I SUPPORT HOMOSEXUALITY'...HOLLYwood has been showing homos 4 ages...dey nevr created fuzz...no controversies...even chartbusters like V 4 vendetta or Watchmen showz lesb kisses...no probs...Deepa mehta directs a bold movie...ho...comes out de shourya of Indians...a constitutional amendment cums up...hoo here Indians r again sayin JAI...!!! attitudez must change...imbibe de nice messages n spread them...

my VERDICT:Homosexuality is an Abnormal Behavior (medical texts say)...better leave them 2 der own...No discriminations b lashed out.Counsel them...Personally I donno how ill tolerate if i find out my kith n kin r suffering wid such emotions..i might not punish them (hooo cant go 2 jail) but ill do advice them...

Never PROMOTE it at least...Homosexual relations r never safe...The very first case of AIDS in dis very world was reported among homos in USA...none will deny dat...De kindo physical relations dat homos can get into r dangerous...eg. Anal sex among gays boost risk of HIV transmission owing 2 de increased chance of blood contact...dono about de health risks among lesbians...MOREOVER HOW WILL DE WORLD SURVIVE YAAR?? HOWL POPULATIONs REPLENISH?? :)sO stop givin unwanted publicity 2 de topic...let us build a strong future...Der was just one adam n eve...fortunately they acted Naturally..!!!

UPDATE:>de HOMOPATHIC UPDATE< yeeeehaaaaaa

(apa=American Psychological Association)

the APA removed homosexuality from its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Psychological Disorders in 1973.  In 1975 it then released a public statement that homosexuality was not a mental disorder.  In 1994, two decades later, the APA finally stated, "...homosexuality is neither a mental illness nor a moral depravity.  It is the way a portion of the population expresses human love and sexuality"

It's this that de Highcourt sited.

The SC has asked the govt 2 speed up.

yes I agree..and that's what I have said it in my post also.

Homosexuality isn't right..it's against nature..for it doesn't fulfill the purpose of perpetuation of the human race.

Yehe I too least care about it..but if i'd hav been told to take a stand i'd have stood for the legalization..coz we today are in a modern society and definition of sexuality is different..and so we cannot force people to be "straight" it's on humanitarian grounds that we've accepted them as a part of the society :):)

It was just another news for me. I guess its still a long time away for same sex (there are lesbians as well!! LOL) people to walk hand in hand, sit in a movie theater or go to Bandra Bandstand and carass each other!

The Law might just permit it, but its still seen as a taboo in our Indian society. If you look at Bollywood, they are familiar with this and can live with it. But such thing cannot be said about the other movie woods in India. The reason why mentioned Bollywood is that this is where these people get the biggest boost in their Morale. Figure in place, DOSTANA.

Now you will see a NGO coming up curiously named after the movie.

the Vitality of the current legal amendment is this: Homosexual community is susceptible to HIV infection and this high risk group was mostly reluctant to reveal same sex behaviour because of fear of the law enforcement agencies.(Frontline, July 31, 2009)

Homosexual community is susceptible to HIV? Giving me ideas - to ban Traffic policemen who are susceptible to lung cancer, drivers who are susceptible to motor accidents and those whole lot of doctors and nurses who are susceptible to hell a lot of diseases..we should ban them all I say.

ahem ahem..gud sense of humour...i should say...!!!

buddy...who said homoz r gonna b banned..??? omg...n itz a wierd comparison uve typed in..grrr..

The susceptiblity of homoz 2 HIV is entirely different from occupational hazards. Medical explanations of the etiology differ :)

More over der r laws protecting against occupational hazard...eg.The Factory Act.. :)

Writing sch a long write-up (doesnt matter for or against) and thn accusing othrs of advertsing homosexuality seems funny.

nd the best(funniest i mst say) part was taking support of both science(Abnormal Behavior-medical text) and religion(Adam and Eve) to put across ur point.

@psychbabbler

i'll first of all start with an apology for the 'chATting language used'...these texts where actually ccopy-pasted from a 'comment form' in a blog....

The 'bloody' phrase 'that it is against Indian culture' was not used in this post...and i still haven't measured the extend of narrow mindedness of Indians. I never support the unwanted furore ...esp the ones raised by religious fanatics which are baseless. But ma'am i don't think it's sane to comment on the mentality of an entire nation just based on few 'bloody' phrases...even this post ain't a complete reflection of any narrow mindedness...

n about the text book that has the printed lines is "The Essentials of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology 17th Edition Narayana Reddy" . I quoted what i saw...perhaps it'll get updated if the author really thinks there's a mistake...well anyway i guarantee you it's an authentic forensic text.

n ma'am do u really expect me not to have heard of ivf, surrogacy etc...funny any way...did u really turn red at me?? :) Easier 'methods' are available for 'evolution' (those that came with the origin of life) right?

the other funny part is : 'Too' tall or 'too short' or 'too thin' are all pathological...not 'crimes'...neither did i brand homosexuality is a crime...

I mean no offences okay...

The answer to my question was nice niway..the attitude is good...i would've been sad niway 'coz i would find it difficult to easily accept the fact that my son or daughter will have to medical or surgical methods to gift me a grandchild :)

yeah finaly...homosexualy individuals may be wonderfull persons...no contradictions... :) not all heterosexuals are perfect :)

n thanks ma'am for the awesome response...

I'm just going to comment on the Reddy thing: it's not up to the author to update the text if he or she feels it is a mistake --- a good text bases it's work on research...and that too, up to date research. And I do remember reading a few years ago that research had shown that the brain of homosexual individuals was wired differently when it came to attraction. In other words, for homosexual men, the part of the brain involved in attraction that was triggered upon seeing other men & is the same part that is triggered in a heterosexual female. I wish I could quote the source. So Reddy is supposed to update his books based on the most recent research rather than his beliefs. That is not what makes a good scientist.

@psychobabbler

Hello ma'am...Yeah de definition of a good scientist works fine...understand this, a concensus has not yet reached with regards to the biological explanation of homosexuality...lots n lots of researches and too many theories have come out...the one u've mentioned is just one...just one..."no one theory or experiment leads to a definitive answer."

Even the APA has not come with one definite theory.

SO how in the world can you blame Reddy...he was just quoting from the CONSTITUTION...know about the legal side of medicine??? And again..before you start blaming the Indian Constitution :) lemme say...amendment is on the way...

So coming to research n medical literature, Even Harrison's Internal Medicine (regarded as a Bible 4 de medicos) doesn't have new additions unless something is universally  proved. SO let's leave poor Reddy out of this.

do check this link 4 some interesting research findings: http://allpsych.com/journal/homosexuality.html

N thanks again 4 de awesome response...hope im not irritating ye.. :)

The amendment became a boiling issue in our country because it is still a social taboo. While I have nothing against people who indulge in homosexuality [They perhaps do that because that is what they like!], I certainly think that Indian Mass is not mature enough not to handle the news. Even after thousands of years of culture and civilization, even though we have hundreds of thousands of different cultures across India, we are still at that 'Social Infancy Stage' where people are too scared about 'Individual Uniqueness' and 'Individual Differences'.
