thanx....yeah i hv heard a lot abt dis book but never read.....vll try to read asap...

Wuthering Heights is also one of my favourites.

The last awesome book I read was 'Brave New World' by Aldous Huxley. It is essentially a satirical take on the mass production and standardization of society. I'd say it's a must-read.

"Mrityunjaya" by Shivaji Sawant is originally written in Marathi, and translation of the book in hindi is published by Bharatiya Jnanpith.

P.G. woodhouse is my favourite too.

As far as chicklit is concerned try the shopaholic series and gossip girl series... just started with the later.

Last week i finishd 'A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini'... loved it

Also there is- 'catch 22', 'catcher in the rye', 'not a penny more not a penny less' .... my absolut fav, 'the glass palace', 'hungry tide'.

Guess i need not mention Dan Brown's Angels and Demons and Sidney Sheldon's Windmill of the gods.

PS: Personally i believe in not buying the books .... but almost just FYI (in case u r interested) i know for sure all the ebooks are available for free download.

I have White Tiger ebook, but I would suggest you guys to buy the book, read it and keep it. Worth the read . :)

Not a Penny More Not a Penny Less is not a collection of short stories. It's actually Archer's first novel. It's an excellent, excellent money scam-revenge thriller.

His short story collections are Twist in the Tale and Quiver Full of Arrows.

Oh yeah, that and A quiver full of arrows

Not a penny more, not a penny less is an excellent book..The initial pages are a bit boring, but if u can read past them, then the plotting and planning depicted in the novels are very engrossing.

Nice to see many Wodehouse fans here. :D I'm one too! Does anyone read Robin Cook's medical thrillers? Some folks feel they're too technical, but despite coming from a non-medical background, I enjoy them thoroughly.

I'm surprised, no body mentioned Stephen King or Dan Brown's The Da vinci code. Right now, I'm reading Dean Koontz' Ticktock. Its really good. I'm half way through. And yea, most of Sidney Sheldon books are good.

Try The Man Who Knew Infinity by Robert Kanigel. It is about the Indian mathematician Ramanujan. The last few pages made me cry: his life is the stuff of novels.

As for my fav books, sidney sheldon's Tell me ur dreams, Forsyth's Phantom of Manhattan, Arundhati Roy's God of Small Things make good read.

In non fiction, Carl Sagan's books on astronomy Cosmos is a must read. It changed my life forever...things have never been the same since, as it made me addicted to astronomy and science.

Love,

Aravindh

You seem to have posted this 5 months ago. Not sure if this is even relavent anymore - I loved the Agony and Estasy (Leonardo Da Vinci's biography).

If you have not read it yet, The diary of a young girl -Anne Frank is something you must pick up.

I'ld consider Tuesdays with Morrie very good. Another set of books I can suggest in case you like science is - Richard Feynman's books (You are surely joking Mr. Feyman, etc). Any physics enthusiast worth his momentum would read this!

And my favourite of them all - Imperial Woman by Pearl S Buck (my fav author). Now, for some shameless self promotion, here is a review I'd written abt Imperial Woman -

The latest I am reading is The kite runner. I am half way through and the it has already taken my heart away. Wonderful flow of emotions and the detailing just perfect. You get to know things about Afghanistan. How things changed there..I would recommend this book. Every book lover should read it.

A new author i read was Mary Higgins Clark. Her book-I heard the song before. It's a suspense novel and she has managed to keep us enthrilled till the end. I would give 3.5 to this.

Regards

Megha
