The message written by you regarding the awards feels good . I think that there is no need for the Google translation gadget. It does not have the capability to translate even a single line correctly. The live traffic feed looks too long and looks like something not fit to be on that background.

What they meant when looks can kill

Hey Ranjith,

Nice to see you here :) Thanks a lot for taking the time out for reviewing.

Google Translation widget - Mine being a travel blog, I get a lot of foreign visitos too. English is not a language known to all from different countries and this gadget is a lot helpful in such cases. i agree its translatation is not of a very good quality but stillgenuine people searching for some particular info will never leave disappointed. So I will stick with it.

Live traffic feed - Will see to it. Thanks for pointing that out :)

Hi Arti!

Great blog! ( I 've said that before...)

As for suggestions,

  • you can give your blog a more professional look by using 'Justify' to align the text. Try it
  • i feel that it would be better to have a short description about your post + 1 image and then a 'continue reading...' instead of the full post being visible on the homepage.

Everything else is great!

Pls review mine as well. (Here)

Arti
from Mumbai |

Thanks a lot Genobz :)

I do justify the text, I think you saw my latest post. There had been some formatting issues in that particular post and although I had justified the text, it came out 'unjustified' after publishing :(

The 'Read more' thing is something that I have been thinking to go ahead with for long. Can you tell me how to go about with 'A short desc + 1photo' on the homepage in blogspot? Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated :)

Thanks a lot, am straightaway coming to review your blog too :)

great blog but I think the quality of pics is not good....not that they are bad but I think you can go through some photography tricks and tips cz yours is a travel blog so pics are mandatory and I think your posts should be more of pics....actually the prob is that you have collected all your pics and texts and put them separately...it is better that you distribute the pics and text uniformly...that would be helpful I guess :) hope this helps!!!

Arti
from Mumbai |

Thanks a ton swati, i completely agree about the point of the quality of the pics. Am a very avid traveller, but a very amateur photographer and writer as well :P Have learnt a lot though in this blogging journey through some awesome blogs out there and try to continuously learn something new and helpful with each passing day :)

I dont know but I do distribute the text and photos uniformly in all my posts! I am guessing you said this on the basis of the Baba Ramdev post on which you left a comment too. Yep, that post is an exception to what i usually do as I was new then...and was just looking to put up something and did not pay much attention to these details!

one more thing Arti which I would state is that go to blogger design templates and increase the width of your blog and make the blog post space bigger coz right now your sidebar is looking more prominent than it should...the aim is to focus on the posts and also in case you are already not following this (but I think you are), make all the pics large in size...

Arti
from Mumbai |

Yes, I will do that soon, Thanks for the suggestion... And you guessed it right, the pics are already large in size :)

Thanks once again :)

Arti

BTW, you have a great blog too, excellent content, keep it up and keep blogging :)

Hi,

Blog layout composition and choice of gadgets are very good. I have not got the chance to go through all of your posts, so can't say anything on the contents yet. But had a glance and I would say photos need a little improvement with some photography tips. (Or the camera is not good)

Arti
from Mumbai |

Thanks Gowtham :) Yeah i agree.. its a bit of both actually Smile

Pratik Thorat

hi Arti. its Pratik here your posts are very informative and nicely written, and very pleasant also  but the post are too long that in the slow connections it will going to take very much time. you can add a descriptive information a good photo of that place and give a break, it causes two things you can have more than 4 post on home page and also it looks nice. also another two suggestions are

1) In the advanced layout section you can adjust the width of posts and sidebars, because they are taking so much unnecessary width of your blog.

2) Just add a page which gives the Information about your all journeys. e.g. A trip to the shirdi will take the reader to the first post of shirdi trip and on the first post you have the link to the second one.

It looks very professional and you can have the track on the trips also.

Thank you,

Pratik Thorat.

Thanks a lot Pratik for taking out the time for such a wonderful review!

--I have been looking out for breaks too but I dont like the one provided by default by blogger. Will check out more on this.

--What you say of the width is correct. But for that I need to increase the width of my header first and that will take some time esp since I am a bit naive and take extra time in these matters :(

--Hmm.. this is a real good suggestion. Will think over it and give it a try. Thanks... Smile

Hi arti,

Nice blog with lot of pictures. Some of them are excellent.

Since you have asked for suggestion on how to improve the blog, I'll concentrate more on that.

1. Since you have lots of photographs, consider chosing a photoblog on btemplates.com . (thats where I found my "Robusta" and "Reporter" templates)  http://btemplates.com/blogger-templates/photolog/ or  http://btemplates.com/blogger-templates/gallery/

2. Photograps when places on a dark background looks better. eg: http://btemplates.com/2009/blogger-template-my-showcase/ or  http://btemplates.com/2009/blogger-template-photoplus/ or  http://btemplates.com/2010/blogger-template-wp-showcase/ or  http://btemplates.com/2009/blogger-template-bloggertube/

3. Consider enhansing and adjusting the photos on Photoshop.

4. Lighting is a problem in som pics especially "Ganpati visarjan"

5. The title banner of the blog can be made thinner. eg http://btemplates.com/2008/blogger-template-chaotic-soul/

6. The page can be shortened. too big to scroll down.

7. Consider using the one with narrow side bars or sigle colum templates. Youe images will get more importance.

These are the few things i can think of now.

Thanks for ur suggestion. The spellings are corrected and will ensure i ll keep updating the "Today's Quotes". Do revisit my blog and please leave your comments on the new additions.

All the best.

Happy Blogging.

Thanks a lot LeoPaw for all the links! Will check out these templates, am sure they will be mighty useful since I was looking out for good templates for quite sumtime..

Will consider the 6th and 7th point too. Well suggested, both of them, Thanks Smile

Interesting blog, actually quite insightful. One recommendation, in your label you can also put the name of the God or even the religion of the place you are visiting. So for example anyone wanting to see the reviews of Buddhist holy place can click on Buddhist label and get all the relevant info.

Thank you Style Destino. Glad you found my blog insightful. Loved you suggestion, will consider it and try to include the same henceforth.
