Who's in the mood to get creative? We've got a new contest up, with some drool-worthy prizes. Let us know if you have any questions!
http://www.indiblogger.in/topic.php?topic=81
I'm betting Ranjith has already created a thread on this contest by now.
Today i got a first Reader to my Blog Post...
i read two of your posts esp shiva wala few days ago...its nice
Someone mentioned male and female entries on some other thread. If that is the case, then probably they are breeding and producing child entries. Possibly that is why Indiblogger delays results so much - ro give time for the entry population to grow.
@The Fool Hahahahhahah OMG I actually read the first few lines seriously before letting out a high pitched laugh that woke up our neighbor's dog XD
The increasing population will be a big headache for the judges.
The macbook is surrounded on all sides by Renie, Vineet, Anoop, Nihal... so that kids don't get a chance to break it.
Great
Yes. On Closing date it was 404 and later increased to 407 and now showing it as 406? How could this happen? How entries were allowed after closing date and again how it decreased from 407 to 406? Whos is responsible and how this could happen?
I think that the number on 'Random' tab gives the total number of entries received. The number on 'Popular' or 'Latest' tabs gives ( number of entries - deleted entries ). You can check for other contests also that the number on 'Random' tab is greater than the one on 'Popular' tab.
And you can verify that the number of entries shown on 'Popular' tab is correct by going to the last page of the entries list.
It seems, no one explores IB like you, even a few of IB team might have not
so, u are an un-crowned Indi-explorer dude.
Unknowingly I have posted my blog link over here. How to delete the link now?
Either you open a ticket here (IB) or simple close the ticket from your mind
You can't. But always remember - whatever you do or don't do on this forum, chat room and anywhere else , big brother (in this case IndiPolice) is always watching.
oh is it?? ok then fine...
Shameless???? why did you use that word?? could have answered without using such words that hurt others na????
shameless self promotion is a menu under report tab.... so its a part of indiblogger
he meant this thread >> http://www.indiblogger.in/forum/topic.php?id=859
Yes, we need to stop using the word shameless.
Using that word itself looks shameless.
@ Ranjith - A shameless person does shameful acts without feeling any shame for the same.
@TF How did I not read this reply of yours!
By the way, your sentence isn't confusing. It's as easy to understand as
Never trouble trouble till trouble troubles you.
I have got a doubt....can i post the link to my blog here..??
Too many complaints of missing posts...
IndiPolice, what are you doing instead of searching for them?
They are searching their own posts dude
I took 25 mins to search my blog post!!! Finally got
Congo's
My post is buried deeeep under the heap of entries. So please, please do go to my profile and read my entry...
i liked pony tailed girl's image
What is the use of Multiple entries.. one post is enough to express feeelings and It will also increase winning chances for everyone...
Yo dude,
Multiple chances may increase your chance of winning. Sometimes judges choose creative entries as the winners. Sometimes, they choose those posts that praise the sponsor's product. Sometimes, they look for witty entries. Sometimes, they want something innovative. Sometimes, they choose a mix of the above posts.
So, multiple entries do no harm. They increase your chances of winning.
multiple entries give u more combos
Well said Nandini.
And who knows, they may give GV's instead of hampers just like the 'Love Marriage' contest.
but it also reduces other's winning chances who post only one article per contest... I guess moderators don't read all posts and select winners using random or some other selection procedure... I have seen valuable and creative post from apollo contest but they hav'nt been awarded.....
.
Who said they don't read all the posts and choose the winners randomly? The Inky Ponky thing we were talking about was a joke.
Coming to Apollo thing, what are the best posts is a personal opinion. May be the judges liked those winning posts more than those posts which appealed to you.
Hai friends...i have read most of the Blog Posts for this wonderful contest here.Good job everyone...! All the Best..! and i wonder how the judges would be able to pick up the winners ????? Tough task for them i guess...!!
they'll do a inky pinky ponky
Never underestimate judges. Dude.
can anyone help me figure it out ?
have issued a ticket on the same :
Hi ,
This is regarding my WeChat entry ,
I had posted two entries , but the first entries like seems to be broken
http://www.indiblogger.in/indipost.php?post=245873
when I click on the above like on the indivine page , the blog can’t be accessed.
Here is the link to the blog , can you plz fix it ,
http://idontsharedesserts.blogspot.in/2013/06/a-blast-form-past-present-future.html
I have really put in a lot of hard work in the post , and would love to share it with the world.
See,
the url of your blog post and the url you submitted are different.
The link you submitted for the contest has 'and' but not in the url of the post.
replace the url of your blog post by the url you submitted for the contest and you are done. :)
http://idontsharedesserts.blogspot.in/2013/06/a-blast-form-past-present-and-future.html
http://idontsharedesserts.blogspot.in/2013/06/a-blast-form-past-present-future.html
Your indivine link directs to a different post, which has the extra -and between the words 'present' and 'future'. To change the link of your post, do the following:
1. Open Blogger > Posts.
2. Click 'Edit' under that post which you have submitted as the entry.
3. On the right side, you'll find a Permalink option. Note that this cannot be changed when the post is live. To edit this, first click 'Revert to Draft'. Then the link becomes edit-able. Choose 'Custom Permalink', enter the link with the '...-form-past-present-and-future...' (WITH THE '-and', NOT the link you've given above) and then hit 'Publish' again.
4. Your indivine link should now be fixed.
(NOTE: I'm relatively inexperienced here and I'm not sure if a link to a post already published on Indivine can be edited. It'd be better if other people on this forum verify whatever I've said before you proceed)
@Avadhoot Oh, you had already replied while I was still typing
In blogger, you can manually edit the url on editing the posts.
Waiting irresistably for the results..!!
Result will be declared on 5th of July, so have some fun till then AIR will go to the right heir....
no no, exp says by means 10 th and onwards. i just wanted to say not necessarily on 10 th.
Don't wait. Results never come on time. Will uncessarily lead to frustration.
I feel that the results will definitely be out on 10th. These days, IB is becoming more and more punctual.
With 407 entries and 84 prizes, I have 20.6388% chance of winning.
You should have calculated the percentage to a few more decimal places.
Okay, here is the thing. There are times when you ask politely and people don't help you. Even if it was meant to be a joke, I tend to take it personally. I asked for the link of the profile with the 14 posts, and knowing that certain people knew it, they decided not to tell.
Here is the link to the profile with 14 posts: http://www.indiblogger.in/blogger/49844/ Highly commendable work by the blogger I must say.
How did I do it? Not manually. Even I know web scraping and my fair share of programming. Someone mentioned Java, but I prefer the concise Python. My code is just 45 lines. What's better is that I have made it object oriented and you can re-use it not only for any contest but slightly modify it for other purposes as well.
Since I believe in open source, I have put the script in github. Check it yourself if you are interested (to install the dependencies of the script, check the README in my root directory): https://github.com/sdaityari/web-scraping/blob/master/indiblogger.py
Shaumik, thanks for that. Now that is what i call brains... atlast! someone sensible posted something useful!
I can finally see something other than whinings...
Hey guys, just leave the results to fate... everyone did his/her best! No use whining now
huh, thanks
In the case of people who submitted multiple entries, is it just me or are those posts of yours getting more votes which you think have a less chance of winning atleast something?
I concur with you. I too have one post which I wrote with a lot of heart and it's stagnated at the bottom, and the other one which was a result of random wanderings is seeing quite some daylight.
Can anyone post the link to the profile who has those 14 entries? I want to see the versatility there!
You can start with my tea time posts 15 in total
Even I am curious to see who did 14. I was the one who started this glorious tradition with 14 entries for Vodafone contest last year.
TF - This guy should have broken your record of 14. Anyways he has equalled it ;) Kudos to you two
Stephen - See Rio's comment. He broke my record in the very next contest after the Vodafone - The Stayfree Change contest.
Oh ho! So your record was already broken by Rio. :D I can't even think to break my own record of 3 ...so 15 is a distant dream for me ;) Lets see if someone breaks Rio's 15
Let me see if I will be able to break Pramod's record with ITC contest.
Even If I don't win, I'll get Rs 6,400 worth combo packs.
what were the prizes for vodafone and 15 post wala contest?? this macbook prize is worth a lot so can understand people going berserk.
There was a macbook too for the Vodafone contest and of course a free trip to IPL finals ;)
oh cool....then the mehnat is worth else nobody wud do so much mehnat for some kindle/tab
Agar main khoj ke laa doo to kya milega?
Check in "My Indivine posts". Note that it would correspond to a date you actually submitted the post. My oldest post is in the 3rd page in my posts, I think!
Well jyada nahi, Mac book se kaam chala lenge somehow
Poochne me kya jaata hai Ranjith. Tata sky
Keep asking Rio. And if someone says yes, don't forget to inform me.
I don't realize why people are whining about someone copying content. If you choose popular characters, they are bound to appear in others' posts as well. Take for example Subhash Chandra Bose (I wrote that post on 31st May)- I have seen Bose appear in at least 5 more entries, but I don't really care. If you have faith in yourself, you should know that your post is better than someone else who might have grabbed on to the idea.
That being said, unless you see copies of your sentences/paragraphs, you shouldn't be complaining.
Well I second your thoughts. Characters can be used by many...but the dialogues and all shouldn't be same.
You know on second thoughts, few quotes *might* be the same. For example, I have chosen Sheldon Cooper and used some of his dialogues. I can't accuse someone else if they use the same! (Like 'I am not crazy, my mother had me tested')
Did Renie intentionally hide the Random Page on the first day ( to make everyone happy ) or was it a mistake?
how can everyone be happy if its hidden??
It seems they were busy changing the logic behind it.
Old one was giving more emphasis/weightage to popular posts.
In Colgate contest, I could never see my first post and even others too did not find it- as it received 0 votes.
(or, that post was a wretched one )
@ Nandini
There are some people who like the contest entries being sorted based on votes because they are capable of getting more votes - have good number of people in their network, ....
I'm sure they didn't like the introduction of random display ( which started around a year ago )
To make them happy, Renie might have hidden the random page and displayed popular page on the first day.
Now, others gets disappointed. So, the default is changed to 'Random' from the second day.
So, everyone is happy.
@ Avadhoot Let us propose a new ordering of posts which satisfies everyone.
