Hi all!

I've recently resumed blogging after a gap of ten years. I'd love to hear from you all what you think of my current blog! I mostly write about travel, some poetry and short pieces and some culture with a lot of photos.

Any reviews / comments here or on the blog itself would be great!

Is the structure ok? Are the posts appealing? anything at alll would be great.

Hi Vaibhav, thanks a lot for taking out some time and reviewing my blog. I have gone through your blog, love the titles you have given to your posts!! Very catchy!! What theme you are using? Although this theme is ok, but try and go for your own domain and change the theme (just an opinion). The posts are of quality content, but changing your theme might make the whole blog look more appealing.

Thanks Natasha :) Would you be able to suggest a good host (fast load) ? Also I suppose I'd have to remap all the image files from the current free hosting to the new paid one, or does the host help with that? thanks again.

Hi I just checked your blog. Its a travel blog right? This is not quite the right theme for a travel blog, also use a go to top button, so that user doesn't need to use his scroll bar to go all the way up. Use larger fonts on your blog, its too small on computers.try to move out of wordpress.com & if possible, its better to have a self hosted WP site & own domain.

And for the theme, check if this theme suits you: https://wordpress.org/themes/travel-stories/

The demo of this theme is here: http://wp-demo-theme.bestweblayout.com/travelstories/

If you could get a custom domain, i recommend you use Cloudflare, they're really fast & offer all you need in their free plan. I use it for my tech blog. Viewen is a good host as they give free unlimited usage for all wordpress(self hosted) based sites. I have written a review about them check if you require:

don't forget to review my tech blog TechBuzzIn.... here's the forum link: https://www.indiblogger.in/forum/review.php?id=22179

Hi Arjun,

I cannot thank you enough for your comments. They are appreciated. I think I like cloudflare. Now, the problem is, viewen appears too new to me - started only in 2016 march. I'd probably not be very comfortable with that approach. Do you have any other host recommendations. Basically I need a host where i can disable right click (to save my images - some of my work was good enough for times of india and national geographic - so I'm usually worried about content being stolen. Rest doesn't matter much. I will take your other suggestions seriously and look at your site in a day and provide an honest review.

thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

cloudflare does provide hotlink protection- by using cloudflare, you are actually storing your site on a second server, much like a secondary download mirror & all your html & js & css files are also stored in cloudflare servers too. & they provide hotlink protection, auto minify of code & rocketloader (speeds up sites by lazy loading js-use if it doesn't break your scripts)

I have already written about them just chek this link:http://www.techbuzzin.com/blog/2016/05/18/speed-up-your-blog-enhance-page-speeds/

and for best settings to maximise speed using cloudflare is here:http://www.techbuzzin.com/blog/2016/05/26/optimise-sites-to-load-faster-with-cloudflare/

If viewen is not comfortable for u (they offer good bandwidth & unlimited space & also have on time customer support) but if you really dont want it then check googiehost. these two are the best free ones i've found. but one of googiehost's servers were ddos'd a month before. you can believe viewen just by looking how fast my site loads.. they provide better service.

and some of my work was good enough for times of india and national geographic - so I'm usually worried about content being stolen.

that's downright wrong they are doing, basically there's a lot of .htaccess tweaks you could do to prevent hotlink other than one by cloudflare, but it happens only if you leave wordpress.com

did the theme i suggested work for you?

Hey Vaibhav, I think Arjun has given you a lot of information. I am actually a little technically challenged (:p) so can't provide you a suitable reply to your query. But, yeah you should go for a different theme, more apt for travel blog.

Hi Vaibhav,

I visited your blog. It is a well organized travel journal with nice pictures. One minor comment, I would prefer lighter background color, currently it is black

Hi Vaibhav,

I went through your blog. The content is really good and the pictures are lovely. As Natasha and Arjun said, you can go for a different theme more suitable to travel blogs. Also you can add caption to your pictures (I know you make a reference to them in the text above the pics) for those who do not wish to read the whole content but have a quick look at the pictures and their label.

Keep blogging Smile
