Google pagerank announced
I am not really sure when the google page rank was updated but today, I was pleasantly surprised to see that my blog has been given a GPR of 2.
I am sure this must be the case with a lot of other people. Do share!

That is great however hide the navbar on your blog,use read more option@ home page and use a favicon will look like a professional site,also if you have us,uk,canada traffic I guess you can earn $$$$$ from your blog using CPA(cost per action)

I am excited to see the PR for A light hearted talk at one. It has increased from 0 to 1. My blog is just 8 months old and have started building links and ...... only for the past two months. I think that I have done a great job.
8 months huh? So let's say for a 6 month old blog 1 is pretty normal, yeah?
@ The Sorcerer PR is not at all related to the age of a blog, as far as I know.

Apart from checking the PR of your home page, also check the PR of the pages which you think are the best on your blog. If they did not get the deserved PR, you might need to conentrate on internal link building and other things.

It is important that your other pages too have a good page rank just like your home page. At the same time, it isn't possible that all of your pages have the same page ranks. It depends on your SEO capabilities. One way to distribute page rank is to link your pages internally. And also, whenever you comment on someones's blog with your name and URL, rather than giving the URL of your homw page, give the URL of an article from your blog.
In my case, there is one another page that has a rank of one: Acceptance and compromise…..leading to ultimate rejection
And this one has a page rank of two: The journey to heart breaks via happiness which is higher than the PR of my home page
@ Arti I have checked them manually. But googling, I found these two tools:
http://www.cleverstat.com/en/page-rank-software.htm Needs to be installed
http://www.diagnosticoweb.com/internal/ No installation required but there is a daily limit
But they are taking a lot of time checking unrequired pages too. For example, they are checking http://xyz.com and also http://xyz.com#comments and http://xyz.com#more and so on.
You know the pages you have linked the most. You can find it through google web master tools. www.google.com/webmasters Just check the page rank of those highly linked pages using google toolbar or some extensions.

TIP FROM EXPERIENCE : Comment on do follow blogs. It increases your PR. That is the only thing that made me increase my PR from 0 to 1.
Dude, what are do follow blogs? I heard you mention them before also..
@ AB and @Arti PR depends on the number of incoming links to your blog but these links have to be from do follow blogs.
Supppose you have a blog A and your link has appeared on blog B that has a page rank of 4. And that page has 10 out going links. So your page rank will be increased by 4/10= 0.4
This happens only if B has made your link a do follow link. It means that B wishes to tell the Google or any other search engine that I (B) recommend site A.
Most of you comment on each other's blogs and link your name to your blog. This is how PR increases.
... And PR does not depend on the age of a blog. I noticed that a blog that was just around 7 months old had a PR of 3.

Cool .. mine increased from 0 to 2.. its a 7month old blog, looks like pretty good. I lost my PR of 2 when i migrated to the self hosted site, seems i got it back within 7 months :-)

page rank of 2 :) .. what source are you guys using to determine your page rank??
You may use http://prchecker.info/ or can install any browser addon like search status,seoquake or something so that you dont have to go to that site everytime,your addon will tell you the status every webpage that you open
got it.. just wanted to confirm because one site I came across showed me a page rank - NA but prchecker.info showed me 2... thanks guys

Just search for search status in firefox extension directory and install it then whenever you will open any page it will give you the info like alexa rank,page rank or more depending upon your settings
Yup its possible ,if you want to see status on google search result as well you can use SEO quake
available for my dearest google chrome too.

@ ashish: Its a plugin from firefox..you can go to mozilla website and look for search status in the addons section. just install it... it takes hardly 1 minute. you can see the PR and Alexa rank at the bottom right corner of your firefox browser.Simple to use
