Interesting blog I must say. You are a dedicated blogger and all your posts are informative, your blog covers a wide range of topics so there is something out there for everyone. Your technical articles are nice, I don't know much about finance, so can't comment on that. I blog at http://theanalystquotes.blogspot.com/   do visit it if you have some time to kill. I'm relatively new here so I would appreciate any comments.

Feel free to visit, One other thing if you move your feeds to something like feedburner, should you change some settings in here...for my last indiblogger update, my feeds detected were the older one which is kind of redundant now. Thought you would know more...

Mohan

Well, i run my blog with feed burner, but I didn't have to change any settings in indiblogger for sure!

Hi,

Hi,

I don't know how to explain this, but let me try. I am (still) a very need-based web user. In my mind, I have held different definitions of a blog and that of a website. Admittedly, both the definitions are vague. But I have always held the view that 'websites' are better then blogs in terms of being more informative. Also, for equally vague reasons unknown even to myself, I have considered websites to be more authentic than blogs. (That's not saying much about my own blog!)

So what am I saying? In my opinion, your blog is a website! In fact, I could even call it a comprehensive information portal!

You use thumbnails for the posts with 'Read full post' feature. The 'size' of thumbnail is a matter of personal choice of course. I just felt that they are more like 'smallest toe nails' than thumbnails. I suppose you know better, but I would prefer a slightly longer nail!

Your thoughts expressed are always clear and precise. So if I have confused you with my review, I will have to consider it quite an achievement for me!

Regards,

Pushkaraj Apte

Thanks for the review Pushkaraj! I get your point on the thumbnail image size. Even I am experimenting with the right size.. so, appreciate your thoughts on that front. Thanks again for your inputs :)

Contentwise I must say Mohan, your blog is very very good.. And yes, the thumbnails are a good addition or the home page would have looked too bland.. Overall! Great stuff! Thumbs Up from my end! Cool

actually i don't know the technical names for things thats why I said left and right hand side of your post is more popping .let me try to explain in my own words...if u go to layout u have chosen layout where ur post is in centre and left side is showing badge and right side is showing comments and recents.

got it now,

anyways,

congrats for winning indiblogger of month july2010 and consolation prize for emotional atyacchar.

What I liked:

The template is neatly laid out, navigable and loads fast. It doesn't look cluttered despite the many posts and categories. The language you use can be understood easily and quickly. You use pictures and videos to get the point across. The posts are the right length for the topic your are writing about. What I liked most is that you put in research (Eg: 'the Google - Don't be evil' post). Despite providing info, the posts have your own flavour because you include your experiences and opinions.

The downside:

Spelling and grammar check, please. (Eg: Adopt a healthy diet, not adopt to it. The plural of MNC is MNCs not MNC's.) The reader will still understand what you write but it takes your work a few notches higher if you have immaculate language. Besides there are people who stop reading the moment they find a grammatical error.

There should be a way to drill down to tags within the different categories that you write about. Let's say if I want to read all your posts on water conservation, I have to click the 'save water' tag located below a post on that topic. You could have a tag cloud in your sidebar or just include a menu along with the categories at the top of the page.

The two most striking features of your blog are:

1 Your language is reader friendly. Though you are an IT person you don't let your readers overwhelm with your knowledge and superiority.

2 The subjects you cover are of interest to a common person, it's useful for our day to day life.

Your passion for blogging, your regularity and your prolificness is next to BIgB's blog on BigAdda!

Wish you many more decades of blogging, Mohan!
