blog awards anyone?
What are those blog award that people have all over on their blogs?? eg- versatile blogger etc... ?? who gives those awards? do they compete and get it ? or are they gifts from readers? or from some blog maha guru aka supervisor.. insight please? (read: I want one too :( )

they are linkback opportunities, and an attempt to keep bloggers to your site.
Here is one more thread where lot of discussion on the topic has taken place.
