On the contrary, I think Hindi and other regional language blogging and writing is thriving online. Many of the Hindi blogs have larger and more engaged readership than some of the ones in English.

Mr. Subhorup has written a wonderful blog post about Hindi bloggers where he has mentioned some of the best Hindi bloggers of Indiblogger. You should check out that post.

anupam, yatin ka answer hai ki haan shayad hindi thoda kamzor ho raha hai, par aisa dekhe to angrezi bhi mar raha hai. sab ke sab hindi ko badhava to nahi de sakte, aise jaise angrezi ko bachane ke liye sms karte waqt pura shabt likh nahi sakte :)

apke prashn accha hai, par khushi se keh sakte hain ki hindi kavitaen mar nahi rahe hai. aap indiblogger directory pe khoj kariye, itne acche kavi milte hai, aur unko badhava bhi milta hai, shayad hum angrezi kaviyon se bhi zyada. jaise subhorup ji ne kaha hai, yahan blogville mein bahut hindi aur duusre bharatiiy bhashaon ke lekhak milte hai.

I think that way we'll be discarding the other major languages of India ...... our land gave birth but to not only one language ....... and the revolt of south Indian states during nehrus time said enough about giving priority to Hindi alone

When we talk about hindi, no hindi is not losing it's importance.

On the contrary now with advent of technology such as google translate more and more content is being generated in devnagri script than ever before. Even I am in the process of converting all my poetry into devnagri script and start a blog purely based on hindi poetry.

One thing that we all need to understand is this, Hindi is not losing it's importance, English is gaining importance and hence it gives an illusion that hindi is losing it.

Do not compare the ascent of english with hindi, hindi is one of the primary languages of India while  english (Beleive it or not) may become the language of the world.

Once this diffrentiation is clear , your fears will disappear:)

Internet and computers are relatively new technologies and hence they started with the most widely accepted languages, let it mature and you will see a lot of regional content in not just hindi but marathi,telegu,punjabi etc.

Many companies are coming up with technologies to translate ,hardware is being  created and research on symantics is being done.The day is not far when we all might be typing in our regional languages on this forum but reading all in teh language of our choice...

Hindi in blogging world is not dying dude..its just taking birth, give it some time

What do you mean by Hindia ? Is this a new nation ? You will decide what language can be used in India and what cannot ?

Pay Respect and you will get, no need to start the KRV style politics here.

Where did you get your 50% stats from ? Do you know the demography of this nation ?

Furthur, this post is not targetted to non-Hindi speakers per se. The poster is worried that Hindi is dying in its country. The stale Hindi paranoia is uncalled for.
