Nikon or Canon?

Photography, that's what I am attracted to from past a year. Now, I've decided to enter into the pro series by buying myself a entry level Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera.

Today, Nikon and Canon are as good as each other. They both produce excellent quality DSLR cameras and lenses. The battle between the two companies has already confused me a lot. Can't decide what camera to choose! So need help from the fellow bloggers who have a good experience into this thing.

Here are a few options that I've noted -

CANON

1. EOS 1100D Kit (EF S18-55 IS ii) - Rs. 27K
2. EOS 550D Kit (EF S18-55 IS) - Rs. 35K

NIKON

1. D3200 (AF-S 18-55mm VR Kit) - Rs. 36K
2. D5100 (AF-S 18-55mm VR Kit) - Rs. 35K
3. D3100 (AF-S 18-55mm VR Kit) - Rs. 30K

Which is better between the two? Why?

Which model should I go for?
