What is Alt Tag? Ans: Alt tag is placed for an image so people and search can recognize that image easily, when you see a person writing in the image you can instantly get to know that this person is writing something, but unfortunately search engine crawler can not see that, search engine doesn't crawl an image it crawls the alt text of image. So we need to effectively optimize this tag. How to optimize it? Ans: 1)Use alt tag for those images and make certain to include best keyword inside your alt tag. 2)Use key phrases which are contained in title tag, meta tag and the body text. 3) Use 2-3 specific key phrases as opposed to the repeating key phrases. 4)Use plural key phrases in alt tag. 5) Alt tag shouldn't be lengthy and mustn't exceed a lot more than 7 words.

Nice tips. Alt tag is extremely important. Always include an image in your blog post, it gives that visual impact. Most people do not read beyond 200 words anway.

@ mayur Sharing links is ok when it is relavent to the discussion but you are not supposed to dig out old threads this way just to post links to your blog.

I agree with Ranjith. Can we please have a change in the guidelines? (I suppose we are not clear about posting relevant links in dead/dormant threads, like this.)

It aint allowed. Mayur, consider this your last warning in this regard. Please do not leave links to your blog in the guise of helping others. I will delete your reply. And will report you if you repeat.
