Will online shopping suffer after Flipkart's Big sale ?

Flipkart's big billion sale is now being seen as game changer for online shopping in India, but most analysts believe that it will change the market in backwards direction. After heavy complaints Government has decided to formulate some strict policy, many consumer goods manufacturers have indicated that they will not allow selling their products via online route, if some are ready to go through online channel they want to cap the maximum discount, some have threatened not to honor warranty claims. Now because all of these developments, customers can not expect much discount from other online sellers too, other sellers will be forced to keep the prices high. It is also said that Flipkart didn’t gained much profit from the sale because of the steep discounts and heavy cost of promotion.

So overall, who gained from this Flipkart sale ? Was it by any means good for customers or they will be now losers in the long run or Flipkart gained something from the sale ?
