IndiBlogger's hosting history:

  • Hostgator Baby Plan (Was great until we needed customisations a shared environment could not give us)
  • Hostgator VPS (This was worse than the shared hosting, and after EIG took over, they became hopeless)
  • Inmotion Dedicated (Indi-HappyHours killed this server)
  • AWS cloud (Became expensive very fast)
  • Currently on DigitalOcean Bangalore and very happy with it! (Although a few services still use AWS)

A friend tried to just see how AWS could work and within minutes, he was given a bill of 2000 rs charged to his corporate card..

thankfully he explained to customercare and they rolled it back as an one time exception

I use Managed VPS-2 hosting from Knownhost. Very reliable and their customer support is just awesome.

I am using Hostgator.

Using hostinginindia for one of my wordpress website. It is not that great, but for casual blogger/writer, it's good enough. Less cost is the main factor I went for it.

I have been using BlueHost.com since 2009 and they have been great. There were a couple of hiccoughs on the way which their support team resolved right away. Getting expensive though as compared to when I started with extra charges for premium services. But, my websites are pretty happy with BlueHost, so I hang on keeping my fingers crossed!

Tad bit on the expensive side, but great customer support. I host for all my blogs!

Renewed my shared hosting at BlueHost for 3 more years with an amazing Black Friday Deal - around $3.8 per month deal for a Plus Account (Unlimited Websites + Unlimited Bandwidth + 1 Free Domain) that normally renews for $11 per month. This is at the US BlueHost.com not the Indian avatar of the same.

Mod Edit: No SSP. No advertisement, especially affiliates. you cheeky bugger! Stunts like this are what brings distrust in what a blogger says.
