Amitabh, I had read some posts related to NDTV's sensational journalism earlier also. The lack of professional journalistic standards is very apparent. More than that, the fact that NDTV lawyers have forced a blogger to withdraw his post, is appalling. If the channel has the freedom to air their "VIEWS", why take that freedom away from a Blogger?

Agree with Sriharsha. I had not heard about the controversy, until I read Amitabh's post on this blog. Will be helpful to have collection of blog posts on this topic.

I have to tell you that we get NDTV here in Canada..and during the Mumbai terror attack, I got into the NDTV website and decided to leave a post on the comments page that they have.

I noticed many complaints from people saying that their comments on various issues never turned up on the forums, comments pages or on the television scroll. So I guess they have 24/7 editing going on as well.....to block out comments that go against their view points??

If you are on facebook, check out how many members joined the 'should Barkha leave ndtv', group....thousands!!

Nalini

"Should blogs be regulated" - This is the entire video of an episode of the discussion topic on  "We, the people" show by NDTV, January 2008

Harbinger of things to come. So, pathetic! They do talk about cyber laws. Check it out!

Media, especially news channels are becoming a bane instead of boon. All news channels want to project themselves as the conscience of people and warp the thought process of us. Contrary to the common belief and ironically DD news is a great source of day to day event that affect the country (including the biggest rural communities) and news X by far the most reliable private newschannel coming off age.
