My name is Puanthanh Gangmei, the founder of blogcastor.com. I am a web designer and online publisher. I publicly like to acknowledged that I have AIDS and I am Happy. I have been involving myself in many online campaign for Aid and HIV. And my Twitter page talks about it. But never thought I am Positive myself. Today Monday 17th May 2010, I found out that I am HIV positive. I had tested 3-4 times before but was found negative. But today my wife and my 1/six months year old daughter was diagnosed with it. I have heard stories about peoples how HIV Aids have destroyed their life, family, career and even committed suicide. But not with me and I say again ‘Yahoo! I have Aids’. I like to give a big thank to the information media(s) about HIV and Aids. If I am not educated about Aids I would have been like those people I read about. Tears rolled down from my wife eyes as she informed me about the doctor’s report. But I am proud and happy when I hear her say ” Honey, we are not doing to die. There is treatment and we are going to fight together”. I am worried for my daughter’s health and when she find out that she is HIV positive. But I do hope everything will be alright as time will take it own course. To my friends and love ones I am happy and okay. I am starting a new blog called Red Ribbon Blog ( rrb.blogcastor.com/) and I am designing right now a Wordpress theme for the blog and will be available for free download when I finish it.

Let me end up by saying: Today I am more human and full of hope.

I will be glad if you can comment on my first post about my life with aids

Hey Puanthanh, thank you for sharing your story. Its good to see that you have taken it in positive note. And I am pretty sure that awareness does make a change in the way people think.

The hardest thing in the world to someone who is ill is the fear of losing their support and the suffering that results on so many levels. But I see that you and your wife are supportive to each other, which is good. When your daughter sees the confidence of you and your wife, I am pretty sure she would also be a strong child, mentally and physically. All the best.

I hope that your blog comes back soon.

I know that there are several communities/support groups for HIV+ people. I could not seem to locate the one that I was thinking of, but I believe that these are similar in nature: http://www.positivelypositive.ca/hiv-aids-news/index.htmlhttp://www.experienceproject.com/groups/Am-HIV-Positive/19015http://www.umr145.com/life-after-being-diagnosed-hiv-positive.html.

You probably already know all the information contained in these webpages, but I hope that it will assist others, if not you.
