very goodmorning shri,
kyaa sunenge A,
*** ye kya hai boss
i thot mahua
and some discriminatory thought on the sidelines too
hehehe, ek hi mitti ke hain bro.
today's thought : santa pathlabs signboard : " aapke liye hogi urine aur potty, humaare liye to hai daal roti"
let's throw more light on it.
in one lab, a person gave urine but potthy did't come, so he thought he'd give next day. when he went to get urine report that day, his stool report too was there, without giving stool even.
agli baar gaya Santa kharidne Daal aur Roti, hotel wale ne usko diya urine aur potty !!!
haha.. yeah after you cannot ignore the power of barter system...
yo bro,
my stress was on labs giving allurements to docs. for presribing undue tests. (sink tests). Now everyone is attracted to money. It ought to be made an offence punishable by law.
very goodmorning friends : 9900th post on actives. let the concert begin
yo bro. who do we rope in for the show
well, we can invite alumniis.
Here is a small game and I hope that someone would be able to help me with it.
The game consists of a 3*3 grid, containing the digits 1 to 8 and an empty box. Initially, the nine cells are scrambled. ( For example, see the first figure ). The aim of this game is to convert the grid to the one shown on the right. To so so, you click on any cell which is adjacent to the white cell. On doing so, the two cells exchange places.
For example, we start with the first grid below, clicking 6, we move to the second grid, clicking on 5 we move to the third grid and so on.
Now, do anyone of you the name of the game?
P.S. Praises for the wonderful drawings are appreciated!
it's great game planning and wonderful creation. though i detest math, still will give it a try
Pramod, do you know the name of this game? I am sure that it has a name....
one was sudoku, but as i detest math, never tried any maze
this seems the jumble plate we used to play as a child.
there is no math in it
This is same as picture puzzle, here no is used instead of pic blocks.
yes rahul, used to play a lot as a child. may be number puzzle may be the name.
@ Pramod Maths is the basic for computer science. Computer Science contains algorithm and an algorithm is used to solve this puzzle. Concluding, there is a lot of math in it!
Thank you Rahul and Pramod. The actual name is sliding (picture) puzzle. Got the name by googling for picture puzzle. Hopefully, I can find an algorithm for solving it...
The exact name for this game is 8 puzzle- a generalised version of the 15 puzzle. I am creating the game ( + solver ) for a contest. That is why I required its name.
@ Arti Unfortunately, these are magic squares.
Magic Clicks would be a good name. But what if it is played on a mobile? We will have to touch or tap and not click- so, the name would change to Magic Touch... Magic Tap
Now, try solving that puzzle
The whole thread seems to have moved forward in aeons but the slowcoach that I am... I am still scratching my head over this. Damn!
Got it! This turned out to be a bit simpler than I initially thought.. Yay!
>> 7-click solution where i and j are the grid positions to be clicked:
i j 2 3 3 2 2 2 3 3 2 3 3 2 3 1Is this right?
The table tag in this html editor is not working. I need some help posting my answer.
This is where screenshots help!
I'll tell you if this is the shortest answer after I build by solver
And, you are you are really great to have tries solving this puzzle and getting it right. On seeing the puzzle for the first time, I never though of attempting it. When I wanted to find an algorithm, I tried to solve it but gave up in a few minutes.
Thanks for posting that, Ranjith! Now it looks good.
Wonder if there can even be a generalized algorithm for a random puzzle like this?
Every puzzle that humans can solve has a generalised algorithm which can be used to program a solver. ( Ex: Sudoku Solver and this one- 8 puzzle )Here the randomness is in the initial state of the puzzle, but not in the task that needs to be done. And so, we can write a program to solve it. If someone builds something which can solve random things ( random task), things shown in in Robo ( movie ) might happen in the real world.
very goodmorning friendz
I don't know but I feel like wasting time even when I have a lot of important things to be done! How many of you are like me?
time is important. make full use of it. but for myself, no time can bother me.
I think that games are required to keep this thread active. Here's a small puzzle (of course, copied ) Try answering it without googling.
Two members of a criminal gang are arrested and imprisoned. Each prisoner is in solitary confinement with no means of speaking to or exchanging messages with the other. The police admit they don't have enough evidence to convict the pair on the principal charge. They plan to sentence both to a year in prison on a lesser charge. Simultaneously, the police offer each prisoner a Faustian bargain. If he testifies against his partner, he will go free while the partner will get three years in prison on the main charge. Oh, yes, there is a catch ... If both prisoners testify against each other, both will be sentenced to two years in jail. If you were one of those prisoners, what would you do?
The answer, of course is quite simple and.... this is not really a puzzle
Should I really use my mind?
i would fake mad antics.
yo
in real life it would be tough to count their words. A person had gone to burma from kolkata and bought mogok mines rubies. On a tip off he was caught at the airport. Now, they couldn't find anything on him. Now they gave him a lure. They said, we know you have rubies. just tell the truth and give it, we'll leave you free. he was wearing it in ring. he gave it. he was cought with evidence now. and thrown in jail.it took six months to bail him back.
p p is worried of brand new tag of mind will go waste
Before I answer, I want to clarify one thing. Are they both aware of testifying against each other clause?
@ Animesh Yes, both are aware.
.... What if the other person testifies against you?
A gonna serve 3 years,
Since conditions are known to both, he will also not testify against me.
Why do you think that he would not testify against you?
Remember, the goal here is to get the minimum punishment.
lol @Shri tubelight, me
Btw, my answer: Quite a cruel deal for a crime I never committed... my instant reaction would probably be to start crying over my fate
arti ji, but one has to give one answer. cry to hona hi hai do ya 1 ya teen saal. wo decide karna hoga naa.
It is not a puzzle, its called the prisoners' dilemma. Its a concept in game theory.
@ Unknown I know that. I am a student of Computer Science. And there is nothing wrong in calling that a puzzle. Computer Science deals with finding solutions to various real life problems through formal methods and Game Theory is one of them.
good @Ranjith. keep it up...share more on other concepts you learn from your computer science course in game theory so that we all can benefit from that.

Any comments on the quote below...
If you meet a loner, no matter what they tell you, it's not because they enjoy solitude. It's because they have tried to blend into the world before, and people continue to disappoint them. Source : GoodReads
no, it is their choice.
I would agree to the statement.. When ppl say "it doesn't make a difference" it usually means it does matter a lot... when they say "I don't care" it means yes I do.. These loners mostly are not recluses but as the they too do crave attention... just like a kid.. holding out its hands.. screaming at the top of its voice.. just that these ppl use their silence.. And then there may be actual recluses.. but those are rare
