This is really a wonderful thread. If you are an ardent reader, it will bring in some nostalgic memories of the characters you've read. Not sure if I can mention my childhood favourites too here but it feels irresistable. Here it goes..... I've enjoyed reading -

Hindutva, Sex and Adventure by John Maclithon - If you like Indian Politics and affairs, you will like this one. Also a love story, sadly there were only 3 scenes of adventurous sex.

When my interest turned towards spirituality, I adored these ones-

Dr.Brian Weiss series - Many Lives Many Masters, Only Love is Real, Through Time Into Healing, Same Soul Many Bodies, Messages From the Masters - Mostly about Past Lives, Reincarnation and Soulmates.

Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda - This is a great book. Even people without a spiritual interest can take a read.

After going through this thread, I am feeling impulsive to get Veronica's Decides to Die. Also in my to-read list are Paulo Coelho’s Brida, Celestial Prophecy, Tibetan Book of the Dead and Mein Kemph.

I'm currently reading the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett and it's awesome!! I also love Neil Gaiman's books!

@naveen: its easy to set such records when you are reading agatha christie's.

but most of my records have been set reading Harry Potters.. loved that series. holds sentimental value for me..

PG wodehouse.. master of humor is always a good read.

Kane and Abel- jeffery Archer was gripping..

Have a partiality towards Classics... Pride and Prejudice... Emma...

Shakespearan favourites... Merchant of Venice.. Romeo Juliet.. Julius Caesar.. Hamlet..

i like the pace of James Patterson novels too.

Was addicted to Nora Roberts at some point..

i dunno.. but its not the book but the world of the author that captures my fancy...

oh i love the HP series... and LOTR series and a lot of other similar fantasy fiction series.. Kane and Abel was good but 'As the crow flies' was even better

Eat My Globe by Simon Majumdar.....a hilarious story of how he chucked his job and went searching the world for the best food in every country.

the other book I liked was "Mother Pious Lady" by Santosh Desai,a beautiful book on middle class life

Returning to the forum..i think i can place all the books that i've read n it won't match the favorite list of many people here.. I am the worst reader probably!!

Today i read this - Murder in the Orient Express by Agatha Cristie..n completed in a record  time ( Of mine) 7 hours! Nice book!

Pramod bhai : Its an awesome book, mystery, thriller, its got it all...do read if u get time...and yes he got me really gripped into this book, i couldn't do anything else until i finished this book..

That one was more like a copy of Count of Monte Cristo! but a decent read nonenthless...
