Other ways suggested by google needs your fevicon to have a URL. Now I am really confused with this and so Asking help from you guys.

This is your default favicon url http://www.blogger.com/favicon.ico

upload a new favicon icon file to somewhere (image sharing sites) and get the link. Replace the default favicon link with the new link in template .

Remeber , you must clear the browser cache and offline data for testing.

Sweta to add your icon in Blogger follow this guide:

How to show your favicon (.ico) in blogger Follow those steps to show your logo/favicon in blogger1. Create a favicon, from a image/logo that you like then with Favicon from Pics convert it in .ico file.2. Upload it in your host root, if you don't have a host, I recommend to use imageboo for it.3. Now that you have your URL/link of Your Favicon, you need to add it in your template. For this log in in your blogger dashboard --> layout --> HTML.4. Press CTRL+F and make a click inside of template HTML code and search for this tag
and just above it paste this code

You will see something like this </b:skin>

5. Save it
